Well it looks like its gonna be the 1st of August. The UPS tracker has changed from estimated delivery date, to guaranteed delivery date. I suppose I should be happy about this

Welp, no macbook today... . Looks like it's gonna arrive tomorrow. I hope I have some time to play with it before my Father's party. I have posted yet another useless podcast to pass the time of waiting:

I recommend you don't try to shoehorn the opening into your day if you'll be busy with your dad's birthday. That's not fair to him or you. If you have ample time, do it - if not, just sit on the MacBook until the next day.

I woke up a few minutes ago to the promising sounds of a truck/van engine. I jumped to the window, only to find out it was only here to collect the bins. I decided to check the UPS tracker and it says IN TRANSIT. I guess that means its sitting in a truck on its way right? Looks like my wait is finally over.
OK, NOW IM REALLY ANGRY. The tracker information says that:
THE RECEIVER IS NOT LISTED ON THE BUILDING DIRECTORY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THE INFORMATION AND COMPLETE DELIVERY.
It now says that the rescheduled delivery is: 08/08/2007
For Jesus sake, we have a phone number, why don't they just ring the number like always and ask for directions like any other sensible carrier?

Ouch. That's probably because you live with your parents and your name isn't on the mailbox. You'd think that with a complete address and same last name they'd make the connection and figure it out, but sometimes they're lazy or dumb.

Hey now, there's no need to get angry. Delivery people are sometimes incompetent, but getting angry at them will only ruin your day and it won't get you your MacBook any faster. If they left you a number to call, call it and politely try to schedule a sooner pickup time.
When I was waiting on my 12" PowerBook three years ago, I waited religiously at my house around the estimated arrival date. The date came and went, and the tracker information said that a delivery attempt had been made. I thought, "That's bullsh*t, because I've been here the whole time". Anyway, I called the shipper, the woman talked to the driver, and it turned out that our dog had scared him away. He had been attacked and severely injured by dogs before while delivering mail, and wasn't about to take any chances this time. So instead, I arranged to meet him by the road at a specified time.
Ok, well a van came up my drive today, no markings of ups or anything on it, the man came out with a box, it was my macbook, but the weird thing is that UPS are still saying that they are going to attempt the delivery on the 8th of August, I thought, well thats not too bad, better late than never, but wait a minute, I'M TYPING THIS ON MY NEW MACBOOK
