What I see happening is that Apple will increasingly experiment with other countries for manufacturing lower volume projects like AirPods, but for the moment at least, it would appear that only China is capable of churning out the iPhone in the quantifies that Apple requires.

Been following Apple launches for a long time......for some reason this one feels quite different. I've never heard Apple really pushing for mass production like this. Is there a super key feature outside 120hz that they feel will make it sell like crazy?
Foxconn lost many workers due to poor treatment. This is not an Apple driven issue it is a supplier issue.
 
This is why Apple and many other countries give out contracts to Chinese companies to produce their products because underneath all the BS of 'we care about the people who make our products', they don't actually give a damn and this article gives some indication as to why, the accepted illegal practice of '996 work culture'.


China's workforce are treated like crap, they are exploited to unimaginable levels by their employers and the western companies who give them the contracts turn a blind eye because as long as they are making the company money, who cares how the employee's are treated.

Since western companies have started to move into India, India has come under focus for the same reasons China has, treating it's workforce like crap.
 
We all got used to now the fact Apple is always gonna deliver in a COVID situation. Apple seems to be always in pole position, nothing stops them.. If Apple users miss an iPhone model they will cry, because we've gotten use to the situation Apple always has because they demand strict working conditions. I would be safe to say workers/supply chain can't even take time off if they wanted too.
