I point the dialogue to mViewX, an applet to launch MPlayer I put together ages ago here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mplayer-script-for-struggling-macs.1836256/ and here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/new-youtube-player-downloader-even-for-g3.2031523/ mViewX includes hard frame drop options whereas mView doesn't, looks better but uses more CPU. I've attached them here - note they require the MPlayer executable to be placed in Applications.
