and tipsy ;)
No, not at all tipsy... I stretched one vodka/Red Bull out for an hour.

But I *do* have a RAGING headache... had it since even before the game started. I didn't take anything for it because I was afraid of doing ANYTHING that might jinx us. (The headache is a small price to pay for victory. :) )

Just saw this prediction. Good call... glad you were right! :D

Eh, my series prediction didn't come true, so at least this one did.

I'm very happy for Cam Ward. He showed that he's going to be a great goalie for many years to come. The last goalie of his ability was Roy.

I'm hoping Theodore gets back into it for next year. He has great potential as well. The Avs really failed him. He made incredible stops, but in the end it was his team that failed to deliver, against the Ducks of all teams.

Crap... What am I going to do for the next four months? Maybe it's time to start dating again? Gotta find a hockey fan to date. Hockey chix are so hot. :p

You think so? Giguere hasn't set the world on fire since his run. And Bill Ranford never became a Hall of Famer either. A great playoff run is not a prediction of future greatness.

Agreed. It's 50/50. I hope the best for him, but you can't really say he's going to be the next Pat Roy from a 20 game streak.

One of the great things about the playoffs (in any sport) is that there's so much potential for a lesser-known player to hit a big shot or have a hot streak. He may never be nearly that good again, but the fans of that team will always remember a big moment that made a title possible.

The flip side is that there's also the chance to become a goat, even for a great player. It's unfair in many ways, but that's what makes it fun to watch.

Carolina Residents Confused, Terrified As Victorious Hurricane Players Riot In Street

I love the Onion.

RALEIGH, NC—Only hours after the Carolina Hurricanes won the NHL Championship Monday night in a hard-fought Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers, North Carolina Gov. Michael Easley mobilized the National Guard to contain over two dozen members of what he described as "some sort of depraved, violent, heretofore unheard-of gang calling themselves the Hurricanes."

Linky :p :D

Wow that was one of the most amazing hockey experiences of my life. :D

I just got back from the NHL awards.

I even had some people think I was an NHL player because I walked the red carpet along with all the players to get in. Since I was on the red carpet I was able to talk with all the players and get a bunch of autographs. I got the autograph of every single player that won an award except for the ones that weren't there (Kipp and Selane off the top of my head).

Nicest person by far was Ovechkin, and he was hilarious. When he received his award he thanked a friend that cooks for him and cleans his house!

Wow that was amazing. I can't wait to see the pics in a few hours. Unfortunately I wasn't able to bring my digital.
