A little over a week ago, I bought a 2007 MacBook, which is in very good shape. I upgraded the RAM and bought a new battery for it. I bought the battery new, installed it, and let it fully charge. Today, I noticed the "Battery not charging" message up top on my screen. I've tried re-setting it, resetting the SMC and so far no dice. Now the battery has completely drained and will not charge. The lights on the battery no longer shine or doing anything when I press the button. Its completely dead. What's more likely? A defective battery or a charging port gone bad? I think its the battery as it fully charged the very day I got it with no problems. But how can a brand new battery go bad just 2 days after using it? Any suggestions besides getting a new battery, which is probably what I'm going to have to do anyway....?
