Well the soccer ball is a beauty, reminds me of the 2002-2005 Nike league ball before adidas became the official sponsor of the league.

and the LA galaxy Jersey has a very retro style, looks like a training jersey but FINALLY they got rid of the bloody collars but i feel the jersey is plain! anyways i won't be surprised if you find me wearing one.:p

thanks jaffa for the news :D

At $99 I might get a TG II. I'd like good ball to kick around, just to see how it differs from the $30 ones. Not that I'm good enough to need a $99 ball! I'm too fat and old for that. Pushing 30 now, you know.

Wildcard played....Gerrard, Dempsey and Turner out, Dunne, Fabregas and Fat Frank in. :D

My loyalty to US players and Gerrard and Torres has cost me dear in my past Fantasy seasons, now I'm going by the numbers...Still have two Tigers in the squad though. ;)

I just took a look at the 'Who posted?' stats for the old thread and picked the top eleven, that's all.

I'm rather shocked I'm one of the top posters in here, I must moan about football more than I thought! Also comical that you put me on the left wing, my old position for Toryglen Boys Club (Gala Cup Winners, 1988)! That was the default position since we had no right footers in the team.

Been taking a back seat over the holidays, spent some quality family time since I've been busy rebuilding my house for the last 6 months. From a position of being rather close at the top of the SPL just before Christmas, Rangers are now 9 points clear but don't ask me how it happened! Also unaware of the finer points of the transfer season, but we don't appeared to have sold anybody, management are working without a contract but at least the financial 'crisis' is easing a little. It's a bit strange they could pull such a lead with all that going on.

X marks the spot???? I'd pick a design with an alternative logo. Like 'stab him instead --->'

Centre half ay? I'll have you know I was a fairly handy right-footed left winger ala Snodgrass in my younger years (and I'm only 19 now). Set piece specialist. Or something like that.

Beckford is staying! Huzah!

But we definitely need some new players in. I'd like to see us bring in a central midfielder, a proper battling one to play the role Shaun Derry used to. But then we have to drop one of Doyle (solid if unspectacular, probably not needed away from home), Kilkenny (one of the the best midfielders outside the Premiership) & Howson (endless potential but quite inconsistent). That's three to fit into the middle of a four man midfield already. Grayson experimented with 3-5-2 at the weekend with wing backs, but I don't think it suits us. We don't really whip balls in from the byline. I'd also like to see a new striker until the end of the season. Beckford is brilliant, but now Showunmi's left and Kandol & Grella are both injured, we're relying heavily on Becchio and despite excellent hold-up play he just isn't scoring this season.

Still, top of the league and looking good really so should be fine.

In other news, there was some minor crushing at the Exeter v Leeds match at the weekend, nobody was injured but police & stewards had to help fans over the barrier at the front of the terrace to relieve the pressure. Basically, there's only two turnstiles on the away terrace at Exeter, and the police wisely decided to hold four coachloads of Leeds fans outside until 2.50 (3.00 kickoff). Tannoy announcements asking fans to move along the terrace to make room for the new arrivals weren't heard due to the run down state of Exeter's stadium.

And finally, tomorrow night sees the first leg of the FA Paint Trophy Area Final. Oooooo! Leeds fans are mightily excited . Two games away from a trip to Wembley though. And a pointless joke of a trophy.

What do you think of picking up Zaki, Jaffa?
I didn't pick him up in the toilets at York City, if that's what you're suggesting... :p

It really depends which Zaki we get. If we get the one who can bang the goals in, we're sorted. If we get the sulky twunt who goes AWOL at the drop of a fez then it all has the potential to end in tears.

On the plus side, from what he's been saying it seems he feels he has a point to prove so hopefully he'll be putting the effort in – at his best he's certainly a better striking option than what we currently have. One of my colleagues noted that his purple patch at Wigan came when he was playing alongside Heskey, when that partnership ended so did his rich run of form. With this in mind, I'd like to see him play with one of our big forwards – Altidore or Vennegoor of Hesselink – and we'll see how he does.

His work permit needs to be sorted (given his international record and the fact that he was granted one last season this should be a formality), so it's not likely we'll see him play on Saturday, which means Wolves may be the match he makes his debut in. By coincidence, this is the very game Jimmy Bullard has pencilled in for his return...

On paper it's a very good move for Hull, as long as Zaki doesn't go mad again. But he is a striker of undoubted quality.

<Makes note never to visit York City's ground>

As mentioned, one of his favoured tricks is not reporting back on time from international duty. However, during the time his loan spell runs for Egypt only have one fixture lined up (besides the African Cup of Nations which he isn't playing in), and that's against England. In England.

Hopefully he won't get lost on his way back up from London...

I've just been reading about the shenanigans at the fifth round Irish Cup match between Larne and Newry City at the weekend. The match developed into a mass brawl and was abandoned with eight minutes to go because the officials couldn't regain control.

The BBC have got a slide show of the mayhem here.

Ouch!

I agree with you, I probably sounded a bit harsh on Arsenal - but as a neutral I thought that Bolton were playing well and Arsenal were clearly not playing up to to their full potential. Traore in particular was a weak spot.

But in the end Arsenal finished a couple of their chances and that made all the difference.

As for the penalty shout, it looked at first like the keeper blocked the ball with his legs and Fabregas half-jumped over him then decided to play for the foul - but on the reverse angle it looks like it could have been a penalty. Dowd had a decent angle on the play.

I think you're right on everything there. Traore was just awful, Clichy can't get back to full fitness quick enough. Bolton did play well. Penalty I also see what you mean, I think with the benefit of video analysis we can see it was a penalty.. and from the angle the referee was at he should've got that too. Still - whatever.

Walcott fit apparently. I'll believe it when I see it...

I'm not just saying this to get Jaffa going (;)) but my guess is Bolton will stay up this year.. and I can see Hull going down. Just don't look good enough from what I've seen of them this season. I'm ready to be proven wrong.. haha.

All right! CDM. Watch out Essien, Fletch, Masch, and all the rest: I'm gunning for you!

Ouch!

HOW CAN THAT MAN MISTAKE THE BLOODY BALL FOR A HUMAN HEAD!:D:p

Wow, I imagine lots of bans and also probably criminal charges will be handed out after that melee. Looks pretty awful!

And what for? I couldn't even see a single spectator in the stands in any of the photos.
