there is no way i'd go less than the 2gb.. Think about it, you can spend 15$ and get 200mb...or spend an additional 10$ and get ten times that amount!!!

With as many games and videos and push emails as an avid iphone user goes through... i don't see any reason to get the 200mb package. just my $.02

I got mine on launch day....one week...711 MB...Glad I got to carry over my unlimited plan! I'm not that heavy a user...I do use Slingplayer occasionally during lunch break...and will def be using Netflix quite often when at airports etc.....
I had similar readings after a week and there is no way i ave used that much. Strange.

I kept my unlimited for now but honestly, it won't save you much. You just got the phone and it makes sense you would use it more the first week. Even if you kept up that usage, it's $10 an additional Gb. Let's say you go over six months a year. You come out even. Anything less than six months and you would be saving money with the 2Gb plan.

Yeah agree...Cost analysis under normal use should make the 2gb plan acceptable. I'm just kind of waiting to see how things go once I have Netflix up and running...The 711 mb is surprising to me though...I didn't feel like i used that much data....It might also be the fact that I downloaded most of my apps from scratch instead of restoring my old backup from my 3g to avoid proximity sensor issues. Also we aren't allowed to connect wireless devices to our wifi network at work so I have to use 3g.

Really? You mean it's not a good idea to ask for other opinions? I mean clearly I'm going to upgrade, it was a rhetorical question. But I can't ask if otter people are finding 200MB not enough?

Thank you other posters for simply stating their usage.

But what's the point in asking others? Obviously some will find it enough and others won't. Either way, it won't impact what you're going to use.

It isn't as if you're asking something you don't know the answers to: you clearly will go over on your data & I hope your data usage habits won't be affected by posters on MacRumors.

It's not like you don't have an iPhone and don't know what kind of data usage to expect.

FYI, even if you set up your phone as a new device, you can still sync your apps through iTunes. It is no different than downloading from scratch.
