2010 17" MacBook Pro not booting up / dead screen

Sooooo close......why couldn't ours be a 2011

Apple did launch a repair programme for the 2010 models. But it's no longer valid.

There is no difference between the 15" and 17" models (besides one extra USB port and a PCI ExpressCard 34 slot). They both share the same logic board and the same components.

My feelings exactly, but Apple's program didn't include the 17".
