2010 Mac Mini Core 2 Duo 8GB RAM, 60GB SSD shutter during video playback

My mac mini is acting up during video playback, realy slow, freezes skips frames, and sometimes even safari gives me the spinning blue circle. I upgrade d to Lion and still same problem. Tired quicktime/vlc. There are low def files.

are you streaming the files from the web like youtube? or are they local files? if they are local, are they on the SSD or a different drive and how full is that drive? have you checked activity monitor to see if something else is slowing you down? do you have many page outs? have you repaired permissions recently? what are the specs of the SSD (model number, max read/write)?

pull the ssd and use another drive. many ssds have stutter issues.

Some install Intel RST and it has been reported that if stutter occurs to disable the LPM. (discovered this when enabling AHCI)
