I have mbp 2011 (15'' entry model with 8Gb) + 128Gb Crucial C300
The drive was initially with older firmware (0002 if i'm not mistaken). I did clean install on it from DVD taken from the mpb box (since sandy bridge requires special drivers we should use these dvds and not snow leopard retail dvd). Had no issues.
Then updated the OS via software update (from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7), then upgraded firmware of the drive to the latest available 0006 (had to burn the firmware cd on my windows machine with ImageBurn 'cause for some reason disk utility would burn unboutable CD). Still no problems at all with the SSD.
Very happy with the machine.
The SSD is installed instead of the stock HDD, not in the drive bay. System information shows 6Gb/s connection rate.
