None intended. I love my 17" 2011 MBP.
sorry to say this... "Not Hot" and "Super Fast" is just your imagination..
It is indeed fast, but not "super fast" compare to other laptop at half of the price.

It's certainly not hot. Using it on my lap right now, and it's cool to the touch. It's loaded up with the highest spec processor and a 512GB SSD. It's about as fast as you're going to get without using a desktop processor. What's your point?
HUH?
You are probably the only one who find it not hot.... Then what is this thread for? Why people redo thermal paste?
Pretty obvious huh?
Try to watch youtube or talking on skype with video chat on your laptop..
Be sure to film yourself using it... And no cover under....
About the processor, you can get the same thing with half of the price on other laptop like DV6T.
Btw, Apple does not offer the highest spec CPU that Intel have for mobile..![]()

I guess this link has already been posted on this forum many times before in previous posts, however I am directing towards this new post which has just been posted about an hour ago by someone.
Here is the exact comment that shows on the link above:
"For those who are still facing trouble in regards to hard freezes of Apple Macbook Pro under intense graphical work or even in any normal circumstances, I must say, it is really a shame on Apple, reason being, I am currently on HP Compaq Presario - CQ56 Notebook PC, this laptop was purchased recently by a friend of mine and I was the one who suggested him this laptop as his main work is document processing and watching movies online, talking to family overseas through skype and sometimes listening music and he had the budget of less than 250 pounds, also he didnt want to go for a netbook.
I suggested him to go for this laptop, as on tesco clearance sale, this laptop was available only for 239 pounds and it has 1 year warranty, after purchasing it, the first unit that arrived home had some problem with trackpad, so he called up tesco on just second day of delivery, and they sent a new unit and collected back the old machine.
This is not even on a Intel Processor, it is running on AMD V140 2.3 Ghz processor only 2 GB Ram, no Extra GPU except the AMD Processor its on a Win 7 home premium 64 bit operating system.
I tried Webgl Aquarium, works perfectly fine, it was running on it for over 1 hour under full settings of 100 fishes and all graphical options selected, it works like a charm.
Tried watching some 1080p full HD Movies on VLC Player, works perfectly fine, tried watching a live stream Full HD Video on Youtube for about 20 minutes non stop one after the other without any breaks in between, works like a charm. I am on a normal Home DSL Wireless Connection which gives download speeds of upto 10 Mbps (not MBps) and this is working perfectly like a charm.
I have been looking forward to buy a macbook pro very soon, and now I am thinking, this is ridiculous, a 250 pound machine is working better than hundreds and thousands of Macbook Pros 2011 editions... Doesn't Apple really need to think over this?
I am posting these details on the Apple Macbook Pro feedback form, that I earlier posted on this forum, lets hope Apple does do something to sort this mess out. Cheers"
So the question that really arises in my head after reading this post is, why would someone pay 2000 pounds for a machine that is not even capable of doing some really basic day to day tasks that a 250 pounds machine can do?
I mean playing normal HD Videos, watching movies listening songs, etc etc.. Macbook Pro 2011 is crashing even when the computer is just booted at times.. People have got it replaced over 5 to 6 times in just 2 weeks time of purchasing the Macbook Pro, thats almost half the total number of days in "2 weeks", and this is happening globally.
I would really emphasize on asking for a replacement or refund as and when you see any such problem arising on your Machine, as there is no meaning in waiting for others to take these steps so that Apple gets things into their notice and start to roll out some solution to this, its rather better to yourself take some steps so that when apple sees their month end or quarter end reports, they do realise how many refunds and replacements have they processed in just 1 quarter after the release of Macbook Pro, such things, do really affect and I am sure the higher the number the more likely, apple will surely do something to sort this out!
How do you measure these 90 deg or so temperatures?
Thanks but smcfancontrol doesn't seem to be available anymore. There's another temperature app that costs $6. Worth it?
