Hi guys... having a bit of an issue with my MBP.. I see the following picture every time I boot up.. these pink lines. The MBP seems to continually do this, and then restart itself.

Pic here is the best I have found online, but there is no loading bar on my screen... just these lines and the restarts..

Any help on finding out what the issue is and if I can replace a particular part?

Main logic board replacement. Buy a new/used computer imho.

When the Macbook starts to boot, do you have a white screen with the Apple logo and a progress bar? Does the screen go completely white and restart during the boot up process? If yes, it's probably a failed gpu. My late 2011 15.4" had these symptoms. I had the radeon chip replaced and now it's fine.

This ones' done your going to need another notebook, or face expensive repairs as the dGPU is likely fried... Take it to Apple, equally be prepared for an a decent sized bill, unless your lucky and Apple decide to cover the cost...

no repair from Apple, it's a "vintage" model

Sorry to say, but I had this (three times). It's a known issue on 2011 and is the GPU, and the only fix is a main logic board. I got lucky as mine failed just about the end of the extended repair programme. That board lasted 6 weeks. They replaced it again under 3 month repair warranty but that was end of last year and that avenue has been closed. I'm afraid you're going to have to just take the HD out, put it in an enclosure, and migrate it to a new MBP. Sorry fella, I knew how it feels. I also feel like I'm on borrowed time.

If you can find a repair shop that can replace the Radeon GPU, you might want to find the price before replacing.

I bought a cheap late 2011 with 1680x1050 screen and charger for parts. The dGPU was gone. Since I paid very little for the machine, I took it to a local repair shop and he replaced the defective 6770m gpu with an new, updated revision of the chip that should last a few more years. It wasn't cheap but I fixed it because I paid so little to begin with.
