Or do I just stick with my 2010 2.4 Mini with 4GB/500GB which works fine with SN?
Well do what you will.
If you like your 2010 Mini and it seems to work fine for you, then by all means keep it.
But don't deceive yourself into believing the difference between the 2010 and 2011 Minis is not significant. It is.
I really don't understand that line of questioning.
Is it worth it for what? its like asking, is a single family house worth it or should I stick to a townhouse.
Slot or Not, That is the question here! I'm going slotless. .
I think you should upgrade.
I went from a score of 4000 in geek bench to a score of 7500+ And in gaming that went from low frame rate at low settings in Eve Online to High frame rate with medium - high settings. that was worth every penny. And now my server can be a server. But what's $800 worth to you? I don't know.
yes and if you have really large data 5tb to 10tb or more these machine will be able to move it/access it via t-bolt at very fast speeds. most of us don't need promise raid 6 drive or 4 drive gear but it is available now.
I have seen this for 950 on another site.
pull the drives and drop in 4 3tb drives for another 500 or so and you have 12tb at fast speeds.
home use does not need this, but many businesses had to use a mac pro they can now use a mac mini. the mini actually is less toylike then ever. of course if you liked it for htpc oh well.
