P paul-n macrumors regular Jan 10, 2013 #4 usually no jumpers are needed, some drives have a jumper to select slower SATA mode, mostly needed for older USB cases. Master/Slave jumpers where needed using parallel IDE which had the possibility to connect two drives to a single cable.
