So what rests well on your lap, an iMac?![]()
LOL, the 15s are good (I can spread my legs a bit naturally) as well as the 17s but the 17s just don't fit anywhere for carrying.

I wanted an Air, specifically the i7 13.3, badly. However the 4GB of RAM limit was a deal breaker for me. While that's fine for just about everything, I do a bit of video editing work that previously was in Premiere but now will be in FCPx (and I couldn't be happier). I know Premiere on 4GB is a stretch, and I've read that FCPx is pretty notoriously hoggy as it's a 64bit app.
That said, I'm seriously tempted to replace the white MacBook I'm typing this on with a 13.3 Air.![]()
I have both and enjoy using both. When I need a more powerful computer when I travel, I use my MacBook Pro. If need to pack light or I need to read the news while on the throne, I use my MacBook Air.
I will take my 15" i7 MPB over any Air. The Air isn't strong enough at it's price point. 1-2 more years before I like it more.
in 1-2 years i would think mbp would ditch the optical drive and look more like the air.
It will be at least 4-5 years before the drive is non existent in MBPs.
