Yup! Sounds like we can relate - although I am always late haha. I am OCD with my electronics, major purchases, and cleaning (but by no means am I a neat freak - it's hard to explain ;) ).

You should've seen me after my new car had a rock chip in the windshield after owning it for less than a week!!

Haha i was the same way. I scraped my front bumper 2 days after buying the car. It irritated me so much that the next day i paid for it to get fixed.

Just my twopenneth worth, I live in Mexico and had dead pixels appear overnight on my new 27"iMac, I went to the nearest MacStore and they tested it, it failed and they ordered a new screen and replaced it.

7 days total but it is like having a new machine...Kudos MacStore Guadalajara..

I had the same in the UK. Found a dead pixel in the middle of the screen that just appeared. Took it in to local Apple store, they tested it and agreed to replace the panel. Had it back on the Thursday.

Good to know. That will be my next option as going through this shipping/waiting process is a bit much for me.

There are a few Apple Stores around me and I will be adding Apple Care too by toward the end of the 1 year warranty.

I have no qualms with a screen being replaced, especially with how the new panel is fused to the front glass. So long as they do a complete job and warrant it, I am happy.

I missed out that I took it to them on the Sunday, and got it back on the Thursday.

Replacement came today in the mail. The Fedex box was beat to ***** but luckily the iMac box inside was fine. They attempted to place labels along the side to seal it shut. Look at this!

Computer looks good without any screen issues. Stinks I had to go through this whole process but that's the way it goes I guess - I've had zero issues with Apple products to date, one had to crop up sooner or later?

I am glad I went through the exchange process. Now it's time to box the other up and send it off!

Needless to say, I will be sending back the defective machine, with the debris stuck between the glass panel, in this haggard box (with loads of packing tape of course) and keeping the pristine brown box for myself. Thanks Fedex.

Box looks fine to me. That's kind of the point of it. :)

Hah very true. Slightly annoyed when the slide was flapping open and only labels were used in an attempt to seal it. But you're right - the box did do it's job. ;)

Had it happen to me. They're actually boxed really well. Quite difficult to destroy an iMac in shipping, with the double-box setup. :)

Totally. they're thick boxes too. like an 1/8" of cardboard maybe a bit more - each!
