He DID. Until Forstall was ****canned for the utter crap that iOS 6 was on first release and Sir Jony was put in charge of all interface design, both hardware and software.

----------

Highly unlikely. WWDC is THE time to release developer previews as it is the developers conference and Apple's preference seems to be clearly to release the new software and new hardware for the phone (if not soon all iOS devices) at the same time.

Expect the Fall release of the iPhone and iPad to stay for the next few years if not for good.

----------

Yep really. Until someone has the balls to take the issue to court, the FCC etc US carriers will keep this up.

IF ipads come out at any point in the spring. The whole iPad 4 thing could have been a move to reposition the annual launch to pre holiday since the iPad is becoming a hot gift item.

Unless we're getting a six-month iPad product cycle.:D

How about the option to just delete Newsstand entirely of the iPhone? lol

Agreed.
It only works for Apple's benefit in collecting ca-Ching, not the iPhone user's .
If I wanted a folder I would create it myself like I did prior to Newstand.

Probably not important for most of the people here, but i would love if Apple puts a FM Radio in the iPhone. They did it on the nano, hope to see it on iPhone as well.

I think it would be great if Apple offered two iPhones, one with the larger screen to compete more directly with the Galaxy S3, Note 2, etc. and another one for people who simply want a smaller phone. Say one with a 3.5" screen, like the pre-iPhone 5 models, and one with a 4.5 (or similar such size) screen. A 4" and a 4.7" combo may work as well. I know that now we can choose a 4s and 5 with different screen sizes, but I think the market could easily accommodate two iPhones with the most current CPU/GPU combo albeit at different overall size. Why not give us a choice? After all, we can buy laptops with different screen sizes. Why not the phones? Just saying....

More fragmentation is exactly what Apple don't want

"Looking at MacRumors analytics, we found that iOS 7 visits here starting in December"

Just by user agent? Well, I think someone just visited MacRumors with iOS 7 a bunch of times a minute ago :D

No matter how many "cool" features Apple has with their new iOS I will still jailbreak no matter what

No matter what Apple thinks up, you have to jailbreak to get Terminal, Nintendo emulators, and access to system files.

FM Radio plz?
Well I'm not shore about that, at least here in Norway the are going all digital in a few years (are other places doing the same?), in that case you will end up with hw taking up space (we don't have to much of that in an iphone) for something totally useless. An idea wold be to include a combined dab+/dmb receiver. Am i Right in beleving that analog broadcasting is beeing phased out ?

ive gone back to carrying a plain old non-smart phone , it makes calls, texts and has the battery life of a week not a day.. for all the stuff i used to do on my "smart phone", well, im moving that to a 7" android tablet because it fits in my jacket pocket and i can carry that around for the day for browsing and email, and the larger screen is great.

*******

I did the same thing you did, but I did it already at iPhone 3GS. Regular flip cell phone, no smartness just phone and text. Last almost 5 days straight one charge. I could not be happier. No more playing with phone needlessly.

I have a regular small tablet for email and music fits right in my pocket.

"one has to know how to live" simplicity! All i see is craziness with ithis and ithat, iOS here and ios there. Come on,

Peace. Good post.

I have a flip paygo phone and iPad...all I need. iPad for home/work/couch/etc.

open up the notification center for devs. it looks freakin pathetic on the iPad ... not even weather to show. missed opportunities

Also tweak the OS a little to make use of those bigger screens. the music app for example looks so odd with its stratched layout on the iphone 5 and do something about the lockscreen! its been six years *sigh*

at least make the slider shiny? lol

This! Yes! I love the 16:9 screen at 4" on my new 5, but the galaxy S3... That screen is so much better simply because it is bigger. Why can't they do 4" and 4.7", each at 16:9 for two separate phones?

because the apps aren't made to scale to different resolutions. the same resolution on 4.7" wouldn't be very good, and the technology isnt there to double the resolution.

when someone w/ an iPhone switches to Android this is the process they go thru:

1. the bigger screen is awesome...i cant live without it now. the iPhone feels so tiny and I can't read the screen.

2. time to go get my apps! wait...these apps suck!

3. time to spend 5 hours a day reading websites on how I can modify my Android experience

I can honestly say I want almost none of these.

A) Wait for someone to post a list of the things they want to see on the next iOS
B) Say that you don't want any of them
C) ...
D) Profit

So you don't want an improved iOS? None of the things he said were crazy. I may not like all of them but most of them would be good additions to iOS.

What I have wanted since the first iPad is a way for my wife and I to have separate logins so our stuff isn't intermingled.

I returned the iPad I bought on Black Friday for two reasons, one being the lack of multiuser security--don't want someone who picks it up to browse the Internet to also be able to see my personal stuff. The other reason is the lack of a proper file system.

Show us what you've got Ive

I'd love to see what Ive is capable of but he took over too late to make much of an impact on iOS 7 so its probably likely to be another Forstall car crash of a release with maybe a bit of Ive glitter sprinkled over the top. I fear we are going to have to wait for 8 to see a fully Ive inspired UI design as he needs to sort out the design teams before any real progress can be made.

Too early

Too early for people to notice this .. I'm just setting on IOS 6 already, now i hear IOS 7 ?

God dam u Apple *shakes fist*

If Apple keep "slipping up" with these hints in logs about the next version of their OS's, there there will always rumours.... I thought Apple would have learnt something by now.

Cover your tracks..... Don't mention any hints at all........ then people won't able to be sure..... Thats what i would have done ....

I'll go with C.

New iPhone with CPU produced by TSMC

Is that Apple's formal response that says "We are seriously ticked off with fighting Samsung in court."

I knew it wouldn't take long..... I just thought Samsung would have pulled the plug first.

I only want a decent keyboard for iOS. Either that or opening the SDK allowing a porting of SwiftKey X.

I hope to see multi-colour iPhone 5S, just like the current iPod touch!

And thinness reduced to as slim as iPod touch! :D

I thought most of them were unnecessary and would appeal to hardly anyone.

My AT&T line has been contract free since May. I've been waiting to see what the new iPhone may offer. The latest iPhone wash't worth using the upgrade. I'm hoping the new one will be 128GB storage. That's all I really want.

I feel the same way. I'm waiting to see what the next iPhone offers. I've been contract free since October around the time when the 5 came out. I'm actually just ready to see a complete redesign of the phone. I personally feel its time for a new look from the rectangular design with the antenna bordering the entire phone. May not happen though..
