I recently had both cards in my 2013 Mac Pro replaced by Apple (as well as all diagnostic tests), and yet my old 30" Apple Cinema Display still has horizontal lines flickering across my screen when connected.
    1. Does not happen when connected to my 2009 Mac Pro
    2. Does not happen when connected to my 2012 MacBook Air (via Dual link DVI).
I just ordered a new Eizo to replace the ACD, however - does anyone know why a 2013 Mac Pro would be such a tough match for an older screen? I personally can't figure out what's going on.

Don't have any issues on my nMP with D700, or on my 5,1 Mac Pro with a GTX 980 Ti Classified.

It sounds like connection problem when you connect mDP to DL DVI adapter to nMP. Is there any more stress on cable or more bending ? Does this happens in every of 6 mDP connectors on nMP ?

Are you testing (4.1 an nMP) with the same DL DVI cable ?

I recently connected 4K HDMI tv to nMP and Dell 3011 (DVI, 2560x1600) to D300 nMP with no problems at all.

I have tested 2 Apple dual link dvi to mini adaptors, both showed the same issues. I bought a Kanex version last night. I'm keeping fingers crossed.

Another dual link dvi to mini display adapter. But i was also flirting with the idea od trying a dual link dvi to hdmi adaptor.

..."I have an Apple 30" Cinema Display. I just got a new MacPro desktop and the Apple mini DisplayPort to DVI-Dual adapter. The Apple adapter generated colored sparkles in black areas of the screen. Very unacceptable. After weeks of frustration I ordered the Kanex C30. Works like a charm! No sparkles. Beautiful picture. It may even wake from sleep faster then the Apple unit. I can't say enough about the adapter. It saved my many thousands of dollars investment in Apple hardware. Thank you Kanex!!"

    We'll see, i'm a little skeptical.
I would love to use this as a 2nd monitor. But as I said, this monitor is obsolete now, and has been replaced with an Eizo.

nMP = 2013 Mac Pro? Are you using a 30" ACD?
Even when you make your screensaver black? The flickering, however subtle, is only noticeable in dark areas of the screen - and hard to see. It's side effect is improper screen calibrations.
