Got it. Thank you sir.

If you're up for it, you should edit the OP after every round with updated standings, or top 10 if there are a ton of people.
Sure, I think we can work something out.

Ok so everyone who is or wants to participate this year let me know.

Miami screwed by the selection committee. They won the ACC regular season and the ACC tournament and did not get a #1 seed. :confused:

I basically just plugged in teams on knee jerk reactions for now.

I'll update my bracket when I have more time to review tomorrow - also not still nursing a hangover and tired from a 4.5 hour drive.

Final Four (for now):

Louisville
Ohio State
Florida
Indiana

Louisville v. Florida. Louisville champ.

Anybody else want an invite or didn't get yours yet, PM me your email.

I believe that Miami is the first team ever to win both and NOT get a #1. Bogus.

Who would you deny?

a two loss Gonzaga team that has a legit POY candidate?
The Big 12 regular and conference champ KU?
Indiana who is arguably the best team in the best conference this year and was Big 10 reg season champ.
Louisville, arguably the best team in another loaded conference and was the conference and reg season champ of Big East?

The ACC was down this year

Keep in mind Miami had 6 losses, more than any other 1 seed aside from Indiana, who also has 6

Who would you deny?

Deny? I would have rewarded Miami with a #1 seed because they won the Reg Season AND Tournament of historically the best college basketball conference of all time. Just because neither Duke nor Carolina won either, people think the conference is down.

Indiana lost early in the B1G. Yet the Comittee rewards them? Miami had a higher RPI (2 ACC schools ahead of them) and a higher SOS.

They got screwed because their colors weren't some shade of blue. No matter. They got a prime #2 bracket and they'll just keep winning...

But this season, the ACC was down, historic or not

The ACC has only 2 ranked teams and everyone else has at least 10 losses

Indiana played in the arguably the best conference this year (Though I would argue MWC the best as I go to CSU lol). The Big 10 has 5 ranked teams

Here are the latest conference RPIs
http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_conf_Men.html

According to the BPI rankings,
Louisville = 1
Indiana = 4
Gonzaga = 5
KU = 6
.
.
Miami = 12

According to RPI
Louisville= 3
Indiana = 7
Gonzaga = 6
KU = 5

Miami = 4 so competitive there

It is hard to argue against Indiana having a 1. In fact it is hard to argue against any of the 1 seeds as not being deserving. Miami is good but the ACC is not the only game in town

Is the ACC the best conference ever? I would argue that the Big Eest in it's hay day was much better than the ACC.

I thought I did a pretty good job. :)

The ACC isnt the only game in town, but there's not a better measuring stick out there.

I'm sure you could make an argument for several conferences. Mid to late 80's the Big East was strong and again around the Millennium, but since it's inception, nobody's won championships like the ACC, 11 since 74 (12 total) to the Big East's 6. Granted, the Pac-12 had the UCLA run, but I don't think that reflects on the conference as much as it does the school and coach. The Pac-12 has only won 2 Tourneys since the 70's. Again, you could make a case for all 3, maybe even the Big Ten. But championships has to go to ACC.

Regardless whether the ACC is the best ever conference or not, shouldn't have any bearing on this year's tournament seedings. While Miami had a great year, the Big 10 was the better conference and Indiana deserved to get the Number 1 seed.

The Committee agreed with you but I don't. :)

ACC-Big 10 Challenge was a 6-6 tie, during an ACC "down year.". Miami vs Tourney teams 8-3, Indiana 9-6. I think the committee relied heavily on Indianas ranking during the season and less on their play. If the past shouldn't factor, neither should the polls.

Well the polls take in account what is happening this season. Anything previous to that should not matter.

I don't care about tourney teams, I care about top 25.

Indiana 7-2
Duke 6-1
Kansas 6-1
Miami 4-2 One against Duke, one at home against Mich St, and they lost to Arizona by 19. Not very impressive.
Florida 1-2
Georgetown 4-3
Louisville 4-3

etc....

Not sure why you wouldn't be concerned with the actual tournament competition these teams will face, but would prefer a meaningless poll instead??? Then again, I've seen brackets based on team colors and mascots do better than prognostications on many years! :D
