Because how you fare against top-25 teams is much more meaningful than how you fare against teams that just happened to make it to the tournament.

Woohoo Indiana gets beat on the road against Minnesota. That means a lot less to me than Indiana beating Georgetown by 10

No team just happens to make the tournament. Take Kentucky, they were ranked #1 and didn't even get an invite to dance. So much for polls.

Indiana beat Georgetown by 10, in OT, for the record.

No, not at all. My point is polls don't matter. eric/'s claiming they do.
If you are a top 25 team there is a good chance that you get an invite. Now considering that there are 32 automatic bids that leaves 36 at large. The teams on the bubble really need to prove that they deserve a shot, there are alway a few deserving teams that don't get in. Kentucky was not deserving this year.

It boggles my mind that with a community this big, we only get 12 participants for this thing each year...even if there are no prizes. Even that crazy werewolf game seemed to have more participation and required a lot more time.

Yeah, hell I started a thread about the season and it got like, 10 replies.

Doesn't make sense. College basketball is awesome.
The basketball threads used to be more popular, then the college football threads took over. Just like they ruined college sports.
