Wow, week 1 has been really interesting so far and that's the magic of the NFL. Upsets, injuries, exciting story lines, all of it works together to keep the game exciting. Tonight will keep it going with the introduction of the new Eagles offense via Bradford and Murray.

I wasn't able to see the game, but I followed via espn game play. I am glad to hear the offensive line was working! Not to mention he probably avoided some hits also! :D

If Dallas can get their backfield to work together to replace Demarco's production, they should be able to repeat what they did last year. Looking at some of the failed plays involving the RB, you would tell yourself Demarco wouldn't have made that error or he would have extended the play so if they're able to get over those deficiencies, Dallas should be good. Darren McFadden looked pretty good out there, obviously could use some work but that was a nice pick up by Jerry.

The offensive line is amazing. Romo had all day. Lots of dropped passes as well as costly turnovers made that a game. It was, from a pure number standpoint, completely one sided.

Poor clock management by the Giants allowed Dallas to have the time to come back and win. Eli Manning is an idiot for throwing the ball out of the end zone to stop the clock. He should have just slid down in bounds taken the loss of yards since it didn't really affect the field goal attempt and kept the clock running.

Agreed on all of this. After the first play of that final Cowboys drive, I had a pretty good idea Eli made a huge mistake.

The Dallas backfield was a little strange. McFadden looked a lot better, but when the Cowboys got behind in the late first/early second half, Linehan put more weight on Romo's throwing ability. The Cowboys stuck with a Patriots style attack underneath with RB and TE's catching shorter passes to get them back in the game.

The defense was also surprising, as they played reasonably well considering how many turnovers and points were given up by the offense.

"@BartHubbuch Dez Bryant accounted for 21% of Dallas' total yardage and 30% of its TDs last year. Good luck to the Cowboys for the next 4-6 weeks.

Man has a point.

Hopefully Escobar is good, Cole Beasley holds on to the football, and Witten still has some gas left in the tank. Dallas got a lot of offense from passing to their backs and tightends.

Definitely. The short pass routes to Randle and Dunbar were very effective. We've seen other teams be really successful with that kind of attack. Players like Darren Sproles, Danny Woodhead, and (insert Patriots back here) come to mind. As @rdowns mentioned, the big question is going to be overcoming the loss of Dez for the next 6 or more games. I think they can still be effective, but teams are going to approach them differently when they don't have to commit two defenders to cover one wide receiver. That will make a difference.

I had a dez moment watching the Hawks game yesterday. Wilson passed to Lynch but the defender dove and grabbed the pass, tumbled and came up with it – except, on the replay, his momentum carried the ball into the turf. He did remain in control of the ball, but it seems to me that the point of catching the ball is to keep it off the ground. If your momentum carries the ball into the ground, even if you are hanging onto it, that should not be a catch.

And no, I am not being partisan. If a play looks clean, I am fine with it going the wrong way. Not fine as in I like it, but the game should be clean (although, OTOH, I kind of object to replay rulings, because mistakes by the officials should be part of the game just like mistakes by players are).

Did the Giants throw a game ? Rashad Jennings was told not to score on their last drive at the goal line.
I don't believe it. That makes no sense. Also, simply not scoring isn't a guaranteed "throwing of the game" as there are so many other variables in play. They could easily have not scored and still won the game by stopping them on defense or the Cowboys could have committed another turn over on that last drive. If you're gonna say the Giants purposefully lost the game then you gotta prove a lot more than just not scoring a TD on that last drive. I'm so tired of NFL conspiracy theories. Can't we just enjoy the sport, both the wins and the losses.

"As a running back, it's always hard when they tell you not to score," Jennings told Dan Graziano of ESPN following the 27-26 loss.

Jennings reiterated those comments Monday, per Graziano, noting the coaches told him, "Rashad, don't score."

Where do you get throwing a game from? They were trying to run down the clock and failed miserably. Coughlin's best days are well behind him. Giants should have let him go after last season or bumped him to front office.

The Giants should have fired him a few seasons ago.

Mike Rosenberg is a tinfoil-hat wearing loon. Back in January he made the claim that Belichick somehow made use of a big TV screen outside the stadium (one which is not visible from the NE sideline area) as a way to cheat. In this article, he made reference to BB "somehow" knowing which players didn't make the team flight to Boston on Saturdays. Uh, yeah, Mike, it's called the "injury report", which is released on Fridays.

This is the problem. People can make all kinds of completely unsubstantiated claims and people go, "Oh look, there's the Patriots cheating again!" Actual examination of the facts (not that people who hate New England are all that interested in such) generally reveals otherwise. All of this over the Patriots using a recently-banned method of stealing signals eight years ago. And if you think that method wasn't commonly used across the league, think again.

PS #1: Headset issues occurred outside of New England this weekend.

PS #2: The Patriots' headsets went out during Super Bowl 46, which they lost to the Giants. Funny how he didn't talk about it, no?

The Bills-Patriots game this weekend should be good. I knew with Rex at the helm, their already-good D was going to be excellent. This will be a real test for the Patriots' offense. Also, shoot me, but I love Rex Ryan. Dude is genuinely funny and a hell of a defensive mind. I don't love Tyrod Taylor's prospects for development under him, but the Bills will make some noise this season.

Kam Chancellor continuing his holdout, won't be available for the Packers game. I'm actually afraid for the Seahawks defense. If Nick Foles can move the ball, imagine what Aaron Rodgers could do. I hope Dion Bailey is putting work in during film study.

The thing that bothers me, is he has I think 3 years on this contract, he signed it as an adult for a boatload of money. Because other people are getting more now, he wants to hold out and force the seahawks to dump more money. Bad precedent if they do.

I hope the seakawks stand firm on this

Reggie Bush is injured. Big surprise.

Carlos Hyde looks MUCH improved. Looks a bit quicker too, possibly due to cutting some additional weight.
