Hey Everyone - I own a mid-2015 MacBook Pro 15", bought it new almost 4 years ago this summer. The battery seems to be draining faster and faster every time I use it. I use the app call 'Monit' to monitor my battery health and other things, like the CPU, Memory, Temperature, etc. Monit states my battery health is now 93%, which I say is still really good for being an almost 4 year old Mac. My cycle count is 221 of 1000.

Anyway, has anyone gotten their 2015 MBP battery replaced at the Apple Store, how much was it, and what was your experience?

I'd really rather not upgrade to the newer MBP's as I feel, in my opinion, the 2015 was really the last great model. I'd like to hang on to this one until it dies.

I tried searching the forums but really couldn't find anything relatable. Thanks in advance.

Try the Apple Store genius bar.
I believe the price there is $199, which -should- include parts & labor. MAKE SURE you have an understanding about this first, before you put it into their hands...

i decided to swap the battery after more than 1500 cycles, still in good health, but only 2,5 hours of battery life.

i swapped it myself, with a bit WD40 and dental floss, all worked well. i bought an original new apple battery.

Where did you buy it from? And how did you make sure it’s ACTUALLY genuine?

I just had my MacBook pro 13 late 2013 battery replaced not long ago.
Just bring it to Apple Store near you. It will cost you $199 + tax to replace the battery. Keyboard will be replaced too.
Don't do mail-in service. It is crazy expensive.

Did they do any required testing before they would do it?
Or any other hassles or things of note?

I've been wanting to do this, but I worry they'll try to force me to some higher tier of pricing for some reason (nothing wrong with my machine at all btw)

In my case, they did not run any additional tests. They just looked at battery condition in System Report. It showed battery service is needed. Then they just took it without any other questions.

If your battery condition still shows "Normal", you probably want to call them first to see if they will replace it for you.

I would not have the battery replaced if I were you. You battery health is at 93% after 221, which is still very good. If you notice battery is draining faster, you might want to check software you are using.
