Preparing for Shipment is not a two-minute process. It could take as long as 24 hours.
Go with what you prefer. I like some of the offerings from some of the PC makers, but I prefer the OS that comes with the MAC
I doubt that anyone can tell. Transactions generally don't post for a couple of days. The temporary authorizations appear immediately after the vendor requests them, but mine has been there since Tuesday morning. There is no state between temporary authorization and posting.
My order is also preparing for shipping and I was actually offered expedited shipping without evening asking for it, when I called to update my payment method. Attached is the screenshot of the order; I ordered it on the released day, about an hour after the store was back up online.

Having used both a lot, I think due to what I use, Windows suits me better. Main reason I'm wanting mac is for it to go with my iPhone/watch - not a fan of android. Also the quality of screens, speaker, support from Apple etc is what makes me want to use them. But this keyboard and trackpad got me a bit down...
I have a base model 13" non Touch Bar new MBP's (even though I have a 13"BTO on order), I have no issues with the track pad or keyboard, but I have been using the new MacBook since it was released.
Unlikely. Even if your computer shipped right now there's still only 2 business days between now and Monday. And tomorrow is a holiday in many parts of the world.

You guys are killing me. I have a 15" space gray that I ordered within minutes of the store coming back up (my confirmation e-mail came at 11:28am Pacific) and no motion yet, still at 'processing'.
This is the part that kills me - waiting once I've ordered. I'm generally a patient guy, but once I've made a buying decision, waiting for something to arrive is always a real challenge for me.

Actually that is good news. I won't be around for the shipment on the 14th...so I was hoping for 15th at the earliest.
Same here. To compound matters, I have adapters and a TB3 dock waiting at home with nothing to plug them into. They look so lonely.
Did it just change to this status? If so, there is still hope to stock devices
My guess, they will be delivered tomorrrow. They are either already in the states at the main UPS FACILITY and waiting to be scanned, or they are leaving china tonight with overnight delivery
I was out of service all day. Returned to the internets and see that I am Preparing for Shipment....big shipment tomorrow I bet. I was only charged last night.
Canadian order, 15", 2.9, 1TB, 460. Ordered at 11:42 on the 27th. Now will Apple beat there hideous delivery estimate of Nov 24-30th the gave me!! Lets hope so. Crossing my fingers for FedEx and not UPS....

u ordered yours on the 27th and its preparing for shipping? mine ordered 28th. estimate is nov 25-dec6th :/

What TB3 dock did you get? I wasn't aware there were any yet that will work with the new MBP.
I think most were late at night or very early morning from what I read. But that could be totally wrong.
We only have past experience to go on; but most of us who have pre-ordered Apple products before; generally "preparing for shipment" means "you'll have it within the next few days".
