2016 Macbook Pro, Order/Shipping Thread

I take that back. It's a USB 3.1 dock: HooToo HT-UC002. It claims to be plug-n-play compatible with the MacBook, so it should work with the MacBook Pro as a USB 3.1 device at least. If not, I can return it to Amazon.com. I bought it before I understood that USB-C and TB3 are not synonymous.

Anyway, it gives me USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, and 4K video.

I find this unlikely, it would mean they shipped your BTO order to the US while still allowing you to cancel your order. While Im sure someone else would immediately claim that order and they could just provide it to that person, I still don't see the benefit of why they would do this. At this point Im taking them at their word, preparing for shipment means exactly that.

Curious, what's your beef with the trackpad? I'm just asking, I haven't used it yet so I have no idea; but I hadn't heard anyone else not like it before. I thought it was one of the better liked features of the notebook. Do you have experience with Mac's? The palm rejection is FANTASTIC if that's what you're worried about.

I'm sure the keyboard is going to take some getting used to.

No I love the trackpad, just not the size. It's still much better than the XPS. I just wasn't a fan of the size, but maybe if it was on my lap or on a table, I'd have had a better experience (as was standing in store).

I still found some weird glitches with it though, when compared to my 2014 version, or even the Airs that were on display - but even with these flaws, it was superioer to the XPS 13, and probably every other laptop.


That keyboard though definitely felt worse, but again, could have been something you end up getting used to.

P4S 13 inch BTO. Still a temp charge, but I imagine that will change tomorrow. My bank tends to be slow with processing charges and payments.

Question, when can I fill out the pre-sign for delivery form? Once I get a tracking number? Forgive me if this has already been discussed :)

No way they will deliver tomorrow. They will ship from China either FedEx or UPS. People will likely get tracking numbers tonight or tomorrow depending when the plane is leaving. It will then fly to Anchorage and then onto the main UPS hub in the US. After that it will head out to everyones homes. I don't see anyone getting it before Monday.
 
Still no movement at all on 13 BTO ordered thirty minutes after with the 17th to 25th window. No charge, authorization or status change.
 
I am still waiting for my order to move to PFS, but I am thinking if I should ship it to my residential address instead of my office since no one's going to be in the office on Saturday and it only takes a night to get from Shenzhen to Singapore.
 
Still showing as processing for my BTO 13". Charge is still sitting as pending with American Express

Hey, anyone's answer would be helpful.

How is the "quality" of shipping packaging for laptops from Best Buy? Is it like Apple's, where there is an outer box, with corner cushions on each side? Thanks so much :)

Good to read something like this, it eases up the anxious mood in waiting as I'm flying out on Nov 18.. But their source is from us, just a different forum or something, not from other sources such as Apple, people who work at UPS etc. That said, it makes my mood better, but not providing more concrete information on the deliveries.
 
Keep in mind that everyone can sign up for UPS My Choice, FedEx Delivery Manager, and My USPS to receive a notification as soon as their shipment is scanned. FedEx's app doesn't do push notifications like UPS's does, but I setup SMS notifications, so whoever ships my MacBook Pro, I'll know when before Apple sends their email out.

Darn all of you with the PFS notification. I'm a BTO 15" 2.6ghz with 512 upgrade on the HD and I haven't even seen the full charge go through yet.

Ships in 2-3 weeks with est delivery of Nov 17-25 :(
 
Very puzzled and annoyed that there has been absolutely no activity on European orders despite things always taking longer to travel here. :(

First world problem, sure, but it really takes the buzz out the experience when yours arrives days after people in other countries who ordered at the same time or later than you.
