My 15"BTO has officially arrived in Canada at YVR airport, scanned 7:04AM PST. Still many days till it will get to me in the Yukon...:(
Damn, I live in Vancouver and mine arrived in California yesterday then transferred to Seattle this morning. They sure know how to make this complicated.

Just curious, how many days do you expect?
UPS says Friday but I won't be surprised if that slips to Mon 21. My original estimate was 24-30 from Apple so I guess I can't complain. It only goes by truck to me for UPS. Fedex and CanadaPost will fly if you've paid for a high enough shipping option.

That is how mine got to Vancouver also...you probably see Richmond scans now? I have arrived and import scans so far in Richmond.

If I have it shipped to my home, are they absolutely required to have a signer? If I'm not home, will it go back to the facility where I can pick it up later? Can I prearrange to pick it up at the facility instead of shipping it to my home? What are people's experiences with this?

My 13" unboxed. Setting it up from scratch rather than using Migration Assistant

Mine was bumped from 25th to 21st, but it left california on sunday so it should definetly be at the store today, yet I still have no info, it's starting to become annoying
How were you able to track it? I put my phone number in as reference number, but it won't show up -- and Apple won't give me the tracking #.

Brave man, don't trust my school post office, having it shipped to home.

I did the exact same. I would have had my MacBook in my hands today but I decided to ship it home. now my dad is torturing me and telling me that he is going to open it and start using it for himself. this is going be a rough week till I come home. :(

I believe Apple is requiring signatures on these.

I frequently prearrange to have my packages held for pickup at the local distribution center. In fact, my 15" BTO MBP is waiting for me there right now. Fortunately, they have work-friendly hours (5:30pm - 8:30pm). I believe you have to sign up for a free My UPS account to request a hold.

Headed for Store pickup in Sacramento.
It could be mechanical trouble with the plane or a weather delay. I've had packages being reported as potentially delayed that still made UPS's scheduled delivery date.

BTO 13 inch ordered 30-45 minutes after the Keynote. Original ship date 11/17-11/25. I feel I was a step behind in getting a temp charge, PF2, and getting tracking then most people who did a BTO 13 inch. Once it shipped it had a delivery date of 11/16 but that was updated to today as of late last night. It's currently out for delivery now. Very excited!

You can do a number of things:

1. Via Apple's website, you can pre-sign for your package to be delivered without anyone signing for it. Keep in mind that if you do this, and your carrier delivers the package as you requested (i.e. without someone signing for it upon delivery), and someone steals it, you are SOL.

2. Both UPS and FedEx have options to have packages delivered at a different address (usually for a fee) OR to a local UPS Store/FedEx Office OR held at a customer service center. You can call UPS or FedEx to request this, or you can sign up for their propriety services: UPS My Choice/FedEx Delivery Manager. This is easy to do from each website. I've done this many times, and it is pretty convenient, so long as you have a location relatively close by.

3. Let the carrier try to deliver to your home. If you're not there, you'll get a sticky note with options, and directions on how to exercise those options. The note will usually also indicate when they will try to re-deliver.

Note that you likely won't be able to have your MBP in your hands until tomorrow, at the earliest, unless you pre-sign for delivery or are home when your MBP arrives.

I opened this bad boy up last night! Specs are in my sig. This is my first Mac, upgrading from a Dell Studio XPS 1647.

I love the keyboard so far. Plenty of travel for me. The Touch Bar makes making little adjustments like screen brightness and volume a little less immediate, but I'm sure I'll get used to navigating the Touch Bar more efficiently. Things like FaceTime answering and emoji seem so natural on the Touch Bar, like that's where they're supposed to be.

I was simultaneously downloading WoW, Lightroom, Spotify, etc. and the thing got pretty damn hot. Right in the dead center, above the Touch Bar was almost alarmingly hot. The fans finally kicked in. Damn those things are quiet. I'm not sure if they were on max speed, but I could barely hear them. Then I put on Spotify... DAMN those speakers are loud. Like, 80% volume was physically hurting my ears. They sound great.

FaceTime camera is a bit disappointing. My GF said the iPhone 6 Plus looked better when we swapped back and forth.

Then I fired up WoW. I had to turn on Metal and then restart. The first thing I noticed was how saturated the colors were... like almost-over saturated. I changed the resolution to something just a bit over 1920x1080, since I'm used to that res anyway. I put the settings to 5/10 and tweaked a few more. I was getting about 30-40FPS just in general questing areas. I was expecting a little more. I'm used to playing on the lowest settings, so I'll take any improvement. When my new mouse comes tomorrow, I'll do a raid and see how that goes.

I did some Lightroom work this morning on the train. It was so effortless to take it out and go through some wedding photos. The 15" size is perfect for me; 13" would be too small. My photos look AMAZING. Like... the RAW photos look almost good to go as is, like I shot them with a new camera or something. I can see clearly what's in focus without zooming and it's awesome.

The size and weight comparison to the XPS 1647 is laughable. The smaller form factor and 2.5lb weight difference made me think I forgot my machine this morning because my backpack was so light.
Thanks for the blow-by-blow, but us waiting-for-skylakers want to know, where are your post-release dank memes? ;p
