I opened this bad boy up last night! Specs are in my sig. This is my first Mac, upgrading from a Dell Studio XPS 1647.

I love the keyboard so far. Plenty of travel for me. The Touch Bar makes making little adjustments like screen brightness and volume a little less immediate, but I'm sure I'll get used to navigating the Touch Bar more efficiently. Things like FaceTime answering and emoji seem so natural on the Touch Bar, like that's where they're supposed to be.

I was simultaneously downloading WoW, Lightroom, Spotify, etc. and the thing got pretty damn hot. Right in the dead center, above the Touch Bar was almost alarmingly hot. The fans finally kicked in. Damn those things are quiet. I'm not sure if they were on max speed, but I could barely hear them. Then I put on Spotify... DAMN those speakers are loud. Like, 80% volume was physically hurting my ears. They sound great.

FaceTime camera is a bit disappointing. My GF said the iPhone 6 Plus looked better when we swapped back and forth.

Then I fired up WoW. I had to turn on Metal and then restart. The first thing I noticed was how saturated the colors were... like almost-over saturated. I changed the resolution to something just a bit over 1920x1080, since I'm used to that res anyway. I put the settings to 5/10 and tweaked a few more. I was getting about 30-40FPS just in general questing areas. I was expecting a little more. I'm used to playing on the lowest settings, so I'll take any improvement. When my new mouse comes tomorrow, I'll do a raid and see how that goes.

I did some Lightroom work this morning on the train. It was so effortless to take it out and go through some wedding photos. The 15" size is perfect for me; 13" would be too small. My photos look AMAZING. Like... the RAW photos look almost good to go as is, like I shot them with a new camera or something. I can see clearly what's in focus without zooming and it's awesome.

The size and weight comparison to the XPS 1647 is laughable. The smaller form factor and 2.5lb weight difference made me think I forgot my machine this morning because my backpack was so light.

Still nothing.
Well that is not looking good...maybe you will be through Korea...but that means another days wait....still possible to show though...weird you'd sit at Export for days...

Mine just left Seattle to Vancouver I assume as a flight just left...that will be one short flight!!

Yet another update - now "In Transit - available for clearance" in Memphis as of 8:28am! I'm now pretty hopeful that this will get to me tomorrow.

Man, I feel the pain of all of you who have had it shipped via UPS. They did the exact same **** with the iPhone 7+ JB launch, with packages stuck in Shanghai, then Korea, then Japan... sometimes bouncing back and forth between them for days, or not moving at all! UPS is a total cluster****, and I really don't understand why Apple (or ANYONE, for that matter) would use them.

You and me both! Mine traveled on the same flight, and is also Utah bound! Is your delivery date the 17th? I'm crossing my fingers that they move it up to tomorrow.
Yep, I'm also the 17th but there is a FedEx flight from Meph to SLC later today which makes me hope they deliver tomorrow instead!

Is it possible for someone to get away with stealing your order at the factory and as far as Apple knows they think your order processed, prepared for shipment, shipped out?

Asking for a friend who is concerned this happened to them o_O

Hooray!! UPS has moved up my delivery to today instead of tomorrow in California! It's on the truck for delivery now, just made it to Kentucky last night. Happy days :D

While it is never great news that it gets hot just from downloading (?) stuff, I'm really pleased to hear that the fans are quiet!

Awesome, I can't wait to check my raw files out on the new MBP screen. Does it work effortless when during adjustments in Develop?

Haven't done any edits yet! Will report back.

460.

My computer apparently shipped on Sunday the 13th but my tracking still just says a shipping label has been created. Via UPS to Toronto, Ontario. Estimated delivery is tomorrow but I'm doubting that unless a major update of backlogged tracking statuses suddenly appears.

Anybody with deliveries to store get an updated/early arrival? I was Nov 25, got bumped to Nov 17 -- who else?
Mine was bumped from 25th to 21st, but it left california on sunday so it should definetly be at the store today, yet I still have no info, it's starting to become annoying

No, it's literally impossible. I used to work for UPS

You will get it tomorrow

Use UPS my Choice to see where it is. If it's within driving distance you should still get it tomorrow.
