My shipment status on Apple's website now says "Appointment request". What does it mean?? Yesterday it said it was alredy shipped and estimated delivery on December 7.
Is this normal?? What does it even mean? I have to request an appoinment or what??Does that sentence have another meaning besides the obvious one? English is not my mother tongue so I don't know :S

Nope, it's home delivery.
Just found this info on reddit. It seems it's normal and it's just a status before they give you an estimate day, tracking number or something like that. Geez... I got scared.

I've found Apple's customer service reps to be exceedingly polite in their lies and misdeeds and general incompetence.

That's weird. Ordered mine on november 3 and it was sent on 28. 15" BTO, not base model. (Spain)

Out of curiosity I was checking out the availability in Quebec for the model I'm looking for which seemed widely available over there and not so much here. Did you try picking one up in store and cancelling your order ?
I would do just that, if I weren't on an island with no Apple Store in sight (i.e., Vancouver Island). But thanks for the idea.
anyone else notice that the shipping time for the 15" BTO has moved up from 2-3 weeks. When did it change? I wonder if us late order-ers will get a quicker ship time.
Hi everyone, I ordered on the day it was announced. Apple totally undersold and over-delivered for me. My window was 19-29 December, so I was surprised when I got a message saying that it was brought forward to 5 December. That was best case scenario I was thinking. But woke up yesterday to a call from the courier with my package waiting for me at my front door. I own a video production company, so I'm looking forward to completing some final projects we have before the holidays.

FWIW, ordered a maxed out 13" Pro with TB yesterday with a delivery estimate of Dec 29 - Jan 5. Today delivery estimate is listed as Dec 22 - Dec 29.

Ordered on Oct 31st. Went to shipped on Nov 28th. Currently in Osaka. UPS scheduled delivery is Dec 7.
Was at the MOA Apple Store today. Intentionally walked by the new MBP's and didn't look. Just a new case and some dongles. Would rather just wait to play with my computer, rather than the ones in the store. The apple employee understood that.

Have the chance to grab the base model 15" with the 450 graphic card right now. I dont know if I should do it or wait 2 more weeks for my 460 :/
