As I mentioned a couple posts up, it can reportedly be moved with Better Touch Tool, but I haven't tried it.

No there isn't! You only hitchhike the interrupt and redirect the signal to a not that annoying keystroke... Not a satisfying solution. We want to get rid or better move that button! There would be lots of UX friendly solutions...

I have the same problem. It's so annoying and can accidentally undo a lot of things. There is no fix or way of turning this off at the moment and there probably never will be. I've also approached Apple directly and they've said that the Touch Bar and esc key can't be moved or turned off. There may be some 3rd party software out there that can fix it, but I'm not sure of any.

Also, to those of you who have nothing constructive to say, keep it to yourself. Mommy and daddy should have taught you that a long time ago.

I would definitely!

Been mis-clicking in on the ESC and Siri button the entire time, and its starting to get frustrated.

Same thing with the giant touchpad, I have to force myself to elevate high enough to prevent the mouse arrow not doing some random click or moving around as I type.

Honestly think that Apple didn't do enough UX for the 2016+ model.

Also find it to be odd that they put up a fake speaker grill design that doesn't do anything.

What do you think of this possible solution?

Good idea! One question: Can the lid be closed with the chunk keys in place?

Good idea! One question: Can the lid be closed with the chunk keys in place?

Hi, thanks! Well, if we produce them (the video features a simulation), we would advise against because a) The chances are, (as per the updated Description below the video), CHUNKEYS will not be as thick as in the video, but still too thick to allow the lid to be closed. Further, b) They will fall off when the MacBook is moved. If we do go ahead and manufacture CHUNKKEYS, they will simply sit ontop of the actual keys, held in place by a mix of their weight and fit.

Thanks for the comment. You are the second person (without counting me, of course) I hear having this problem.

Count me in as well. Except my fingers don't caress the escape key (I have the 2019 16") but it caresses other parts of the Touch Bar, suddenly highlighting a bunch of text, or underling it, or triggering a paste, which I then have to go back and undo. I've tried all kinds of things to no avail. Next might a strip of electrical tape across that damn thing.

This is extremely painful bumping the ESC key (touch bar).

To all of those that suggest adapting the habit of hand placement and practice proper touch typing. =>
1. Do you use the TILDE key for in-app window switching? i.e. `COMMAND` + `~` OR
2. Do you use the ACUTE key for formatting text?

The TILDE/ACUTE key is one of the higher impact specialty keys that can be hit by either my little finger or ring finger depending on the task at hand. If my hand is resting in place after using the key, as I am thinking, it slowly drifts forward. Perhaps this is a habit to break as when I switch to my Magic Keyboard, my fingers can slightly push into the ESC key. Well, at least when I notice I have bumped the ESC on the touch bar, I look and see that it is usually just the tip of my finger!!!

Anyway, I think the key above is that not all of us are purely touch typists that live in word processors and some of us are touch typists that live in other environments that do require different resting and operational positions.
