I second for Amazon. I get 5% cash back with my Amazon Store Card + no sales tax. Double dip for me. But typically it takes a good month or two before new Apple products show up on Amazon. At least thats how it was with the iPad Pro.

Ohh.. well be a hard wait for me. However I just got a call I will be getting a $250 bonus on my next pay check because I didn't work because of the Hurricane.

It has been a while since I bought a Mac on Amazon, but in 2011 or 2012 (can't recall which) I bought a new MacBook Air off Amazon the day after it was released. I dunno if they still hit that fast or not though.

Hope so.

Do we know what time the event is supposed to go until? I'm only a 15min walk from the Apple store so I'm thinking of popping down in the afternoon immediately after the event to pick one up (to avoid the after work crowds). I've always ordered online since I've done upgrades in the past, but my needs are different now and I'm just looking for a 13" base model-IF they say that models are available immediately in store and online, is it worth going to the store on day 1 to try and get one, or is there a chance I'm going to end up missing out at the store AND getting a long lead time ordering on the website by the evening?

I hope they are available the same day or Friday. Also looking for the Macbook pro 13" basic. Can't wait.

So some new rumors are up and running around.
The new Macbook Pro's should already are in some stores and are ready to sell.
If you wanna read it yourself take a look at the "Waiting for Skylake MBP" Thread.
In about 1 week we can hold the new machines in our hands.
Sounds nice to me. We will survive this last days. ;)

Another good place for people to check is bestbuy. They actually had the MacBooks in stock before apple did.
