should I buy the 2017 MacBook for $720 no tax open box Gold base model.

I just got rid of my 2015 MBA and gave it to my sister because she needed a computer after her Asus hard drive and battery crashed.

Currently have a 2018 MBP 15inch but it’s a pain to carry around not because of weight but the sheer size of it.

If you want it. It's a great machine for email, web and office tasks. You can edit video with it in a pinch too.

Of course, iPads will do that stuff too.

I am in the same boat, well kind of. I have a 15" MBP that i really like but when i travel for work and have to drag my large PC I don't feel like bringing my 15" MBP as well But to bring a MacBook for quick check of emails and things I don't want to store on my work PC makes sense. Seriously considering a cheap/refurbished 2017 MB to complement.

If we get a new

US$720 no tax is a great deal.

We may get a new MacBook this year, but even if it does arrive this year, we don't know for sure when.

It could be as early as WWDC in June, or it could be as late as November/December.

And even if we do get a new MacBook this year, it won't be US$720 no tax.
