It seems like a lot of MacBook users and just casual users seems to like this laptop. It would be great if it was named ProMacBook to avoid all the confusion :) I still wonder whether Apple will stick with this keyboard design for several years ...

Sincerely hope Apple revive the PowerBook branding and do the name justice, offering a more usable portable solution to few professional users it still has...

This particular comment somewhat supports my personal theory that they really should have TB on the MacBooks also, or if only in one place, on the MB.

The traditional pro user knows loads of shortcuts and nothing will be faster than those, where you hands are and flying along with muscle memory, if you know them.

Exactly, and a Pro user would rather that extra money went on something like battery life or power. It's crazy how badly Apple understand their own market sometimes.

Thanks for the post jerry16. People love to hate on anything, especially new and or different. I've been using Apple products since the early 90's. They are tools of my trade and always pay for themselves in short order.

Innovation in general is painful, think back to the Macintosh Quadra 700, you could get 68mbs of ram with a 25 MHz processor. The video card was 512 kilobytes VRAM soldered to the motherboard, and supported resolutions up to 1152x870. Dual serial ports, an AAUI ethernet port, mic in, and a DB-25 SCSI connector!!

If nothing progressed from that moment, none of us could function like we do.

I refresh my laptop every year except last year, I hung on to my early 2015 13" MBP. So when the 2017 MBP's rolled out I decided it was time. And aside from the basic 3 minute Youtube videos giving me minimal info to go on, I looked to the boards and general info, and the majority of it is negative. Again, I get it...we're in an age where people debate over everything, but at some point we all have to decide what to buy regardless what it is. And there are so many professions that have different needs, it's impossible to give everyone exactly what they want.

For me it's been the debate between size. I've been using a 13" for a few years because I always had a desktop. But I got rid of my iMac last year so I'm solely portable now. I pulled the trigger on the 2017 13" and have had it for a week, but it's feeling like I'm going to return it and go 15" for the screen size + the bonus of the boosted guts.

I do love the size of the 13" but ironically, sometimes it feels to small...lol. My 2015 had a little more bulk which fit my lap a little better, but sometime the new 13" slips around.

Hopefully the 15" will do the trick. Thanks again for your perspective.

I think I would enjoy my shiny new 2017 MBP better without reading these forums/reviews

But then, I wouldn't notice how the computer clicks every now and then, the screen tints a little different on the left side, or there's a tiny gap between the LCD glass and the rubber bezel. Oh and the keyboard, it sounds a tiny bit differently from first day (more in higher pitch)?
