2018 MBA $1149 worth buying?

What's your opinion on this model? Worth buying? 2018 MBA 13" with i5 processor, 16GB memory, and 512GB SSD for $1149.

You better grab it before they notice the mistake. That’s only 50 bucks more than the 8gb/256 so it might be wrong. It’s definitely a good deal. I have the 2019 and it’s a nice little machine.

But what about the crappy keyboard and no Truetone? Is Truetone really worth it?

I personally like Truetone but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me at that price. Most high end laptops don’t have it so it’s obviously not considered a “must have” feature. I also don’t consider the keyboard to be crappy and think it feels rather nice to type on although mine is the newest one. I have no opinion on its reliability as mine is fine and I’ve learned not take forum posts as reality. It’s covered for 4 years anyway.

What blows is they had 0% 24 month financing if you added AppleCare and that disappeared in the last 48hr

It's no mistake. They also have the gold and silver versions for the same price. If I was doing it all over again, I'd probably jump on that deal. It's a nice little machine. I have the 2018 base version and I love mine. Love the keyboard too; I can fly on that thing!

Nice price then. I did pick up the 2019 base model for $899 so I really can’t complain. Best Buy is having killer deals lately.

Best Buy ran a similar deal on MBPs, IIRC, not long ago. I'd say it's worth buying, especially at that price. It would make a fantastic laptop for sending your kids off to college with.

Yeah that's a pretty good deal. I just picked up one used for $1200 here last month (but had 2.5 more years of Apple Care Plus) and some extras. If I didn't buy it then, I would have picked this one up for the wife.

I saw that deal too and could not let it pass. It was a fantastic deal for the 16/512 configuration. Really happy with the laptop so far.

That’s not a good deal at all. Micro Center has them for $959, brand new. If you have a Micro Center in your city, definitely check it out.

They're not only comparable but 3% short of being "exactly the same"...

Update: I got the MBA 13" 16GB/512GB for $1149 (space gray, MUQT2LL/A). Haven't unbox it yet. Will let you guys know how it runs in the next few weeks.

I meant somewhere that has comparable sale prices to Microcenter, because based on what I see here and when I browse their sales occasionally, their sales are very good.

It's back at best buy for 1299. Not as good as the 1149 of course but still a good buy I think.
