Cabin and engine filters I changed a couple weeks ago so they are good.
The dealership did secure the shift cable the other week but when I went to take the car home it was still clicking. Since then all had been quiet though. I took it to a different dealership to see if they could correct it but it is still quiet. I am keeping my ear out for now.

Anyone got an update with this issue? I just noticed the same problem with 2021 civic hatch s touring. I have another honda accord 2005 exl - got the same problem..

I think it is the Blend door actuator

Good find! Though it seems that in my case if that were the issue the noise would've stopped when I shut the air completely off, but it didn't. And as mentioned later in the thread, the noise went away on its own quite a few months ago for me and has yet to return. However, I will definitely be looking at the blend door actuator if I hear the noise again.

Curiously, though, I AM having issues with my AC - cold air is coming out of passenger side vents but not driver's side. But that's also a symptom of low refrigerant levels, so it may not be related to the blend door actuator. I'm taking the car in next Monday to have the AC system inspected.

Interesting. As you saw in the post you quoted, shutting off the air system had no effect in my case. Also, in case you didn't see post 17, the sound eventually stopped and hasn't reoccurred for many months. Although I *thought* I heard it briefly the other day, except it seemed to be coming from a different area in the cabin - almost like it was the center armrest storage or glove compartment.
Ok it started again. This time sitting the climate control off had no effect. The question is Why isn't Honda aware of the issue?

Sorry to hear that. So far the noise on mine has not come back since last year. Have you looked into the blend door actuator as described in post 28?

Ok. I took the car in for a couple of things, one being the clicking sound. They used to stethoscopes and told me that it was something to do with the AC. I believe a motor or something. They ordered the part it'll take a little bit to get in. I will let you know if it resolved the issue. I mentioned the actuator doors might be the issue but they're going this route instead.

Mine has started making the noise again within the last couple weeks. I had been running the AC all the time for many weeks before that without one hint of this noise, so I don't understand it. It seems totally random.

Hi, is the issue been resolved?

I faced the same noise yesterday in my 2019 civic.
Symptoms are exactly similar to yours:
- click click sound around dash, even when the car is stationary.
- turning off ac/blower doesn’t impact the sound. It comes and goes randomly.
- I was driving in 38 degrees Celcius hot weather with ac on, when I first noticed the sound.
Any pointers will help me diagnose the issue.
Thanks in advance.

The sound went away on its own a long time ago and hasn't returned, though I wouldn't be surprised if it randomly did. If yours persists, I'd look into replacing the blend door actuator as described in post 28:
