Can you still fold these in half?
You and me both! I don't think most people realize just what a game changers AR glasses are going to be over the next 10 years when they have launched and matured like smart phones have done over the past 10 years. That and I believe laying the foundation for the grand daddy of all AR: the apple glasses. Won’t come this year but by the time it does, people will already be diggin AR a bit more and find it a bit more useful to the point Apple glasses aren’t just a heads up display but something they look forward to using their iPad apps on.
personally, I would love to just be able to wear glasses and while my hands are full, say “measure this” and look left to right and measure what I’m holding with lidar accuracy. What Apple needs to apple glasses to not be a failed product is a reason for it to exist besides fashion
Do it Do it do ittttt. Cancel that order. As i get older i ask myself more and more “do i really need this? I’m paying all this damn money. Will it change my life or am i just buying it because its new?” When it comes to practically non existent updates like this the answer couldn’t be more clear.I watched 2 video reviews, and I feel like I’ve already learned everything there is to know about this new iPad. Nothing to see here folks...move along, move along. I have a 2018 iPad Pro and am seriously considering cancelling my order for the 2020 iPad Pro.
I took a picture of my cat the other day with my iPad since it was right next to me LOL but the other main use that this iPad camera can get out is AR and if Apple makes a real good push for it. Ar is the absolute worst on phones. Less bad on tablets because of the big screenI just checked my iPad photos. The last time I took a picture with my iPad was November 19, 2019. And I use my iPad heavily for work and personal activity.
My point is that Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is only overpriced in that Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2 are overpriced. When you compare Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro across Apple's product line, the price point is well within the norm.
As for the size of the trackpad on Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, it looks to be roughly the same as the original MacBook Air's. Until hands on reports, we won't know for sure, but I am guessing it's large enough, especially on 11-inch model (larger screen benefit from larger trackpad).
This. iPad cameras have always seemed pointless to me, given that most people have a phone with them all the time anyway. In over 3 years of iPad use, I've taken a grand total of 2 photos with mine (and they were taken within seconds of each other).in that 8 years, my household probably used the rear camera about 2 dozen times, if at that.
And the new LIDAR scanner definitely increases the scope of what these devices can do, which could lead to some very exciting new possibilities - once app development catches up with the technology.
What is the killer AR app? Is there one? Cool technology looking for a use....
Seems like Apple Glasses could be on their way - if they get the same LIDAR sensor (it seems the size is right), Apple has a great head-start on that one. Assuming Glasses would come in 2021, this makes a 1 to 1,5 year time-frame for developers to wrap their head around AR this time. Let's assume Apple Glasses are real. AR ideas?I don't know why you would upgrade from the 2018 but I am upgrading from a much older model and it looks amazing. Very excited.

AR fully realized is going to be so game changing it will be scary. But I don't think we are there yet. Its sci-fi dream stuff about 2-5 years away.
I said "original" MBA, the one with physical bottom button, not the current one. They look to be roughly the same size.WRONG! The APPLE iPad Magic Keyboard trackpad vertical length isn't the same as MBA. IT'S UNACCEPTABLE!

How do you figure Apple fits a larger trackpad onto the Magic Keyboard for iPad? If they pushed everything further up they would either need to compromise the size of the full-size keyboard OR make it so the keys are too close to the screen at certain viewing angles, so when you're trying to input numbers your fingers may hit the bottom edge of the iPad. If you want to trash their solution do you have a better one to suggest yourself?WRONG! The APPLE iPad Magic Keyboard trackpad vertical length isn't the same as MBA. IT'S UNACCEPTABLE!
