Oh thats awesome! What time did you order on May 4? I may have just screwed myself because I ordered shortly after store went online but I updated the shipping yesterday to express delivery, and still see no movement....
~3am this morning my order has now shipped. Scheduled delivery with UPS for 21 May. Apple still says 22-28 May.
I was supposed to receive my MacBook Pro yesterday, however, UPS let me know last minute that it has been delayed until Monday 18th May. By the looks of it, the order arrived in the UK and has since been shipped to France. According to the Apple support rep, custom built Macs are facing more stringent security checks?
Honestly sounds like a load of BS on the part of the Apple rep. I hate to say it but most Apple reps tend to just pull these things out of thin air. My suspicion is that this is some mess up on UPS' part...
Original Order placed on 5/9 with estimated delivery 5/28-6/4.
On 5/12 I saw the same one available on Amazon with delivery on 5/14, so I canceled with Apple and placed order through Amazon. It actually ended up coming yesterday!

Has anyone received an i7 version? I have no idea if I should go for i5 or i7? I know the baseline benchmarks are very similar but I am not sure if the GPU is better on the i7 or if the i7 has more headroom later down the line? I've seen some tech reviews where they've said the Pros aren't fully utilising the heat envelope they have....

I am in the same situation. It was in Stanford Le Hope, UK on Tuesday and was scheduled for deliver the next day. But then UPS delayed the delivery to Monday 18th and tracking said it was in France yesterday.
I have checked the tracking page and now it is back in the UK. Hopefully it might get delivered tomorrow instead of Monday.
Unless you like throwing away $200 for 3% performance improvement don’t get the i7. The GPU is the same.

Yup, looks like it. Hard to get my mind off not getting the i7 due to preconceptions about it. Oh well, shame the RAM is much more expensive as I would have spent the upgrade there.
Same here. i5/32/2TB, credit card charged this morning about an hour ago. Had hoped to see it move to "Preparing to Ship", but any progress is good.

Heck yeah!! My UPS tracking shows an import scan in Mount Hope at 7:04 AM, along with a departure scan at 8:35 AM!!
Also, says it will deliver between 12:30 PM - 4 PM TODAY???!?.
I'll believe it when it shows "out for delivery", it's 9:30 AM..... *excitedly tempering expectations*
Now, should I get a new mouse with Bluetooth or a USB hub/dongle to use my existing mouse? Hmmmm.

To me, RAM is often the best choice anyone can make when choosing what to upgrade. I've done this in every single computer I've ever purchased and its allowed me to get a few extra years out of a machine I otherwise would of had to dispose of because RAM requirements tend to increase over time. It's a great way of future proofing your purchase.
To me, upgrading to 32 from 16 instead of the smaller upgrade price of i5 to i7 makes so much more sense. Sure the RAM is a pricier upgrade but relative to the overall price of the machine and the extra few years you might get out of it, well worth it in my opinion.

Perhaps they are now working on the 32GB RAM models and getting those ready to ship. Mine is also the i5 with 32 but 512GB storage.
Really not sure what I would do with 32gig of RAM though. I don't do image or video work really. That said I do use VM Fusion so could be useful there.
I use Parallels and the extra bit of RAM will be extremely useful in these use cases. It doesn't always have to be video editing that puts demands on RAM. Have a dozen Chrome tabs open, a virtual machine etc. All these things can add up quickly and again, I think it just future proofs the system.
Still processing here, and no charges to the CC yet. Let’s hope we see some movement here before the weekend, otherwise it’s gunna be a long one 😬
My 16 inch Pro was on the same Memphis plane with delivery bumped Wednesday to Friday. But mine went to a sorting facility in Ohio last night, and didn't get to my local facility til 9:30 this morning. So I think it's not coming until tomorrow since it isn't marked for delivery yet. 😭 And from what I googled asking for a hold could delay and I might not be able to pick it up today. Gotta wait another day I guess.

Update, my order shipped yesterday! should be delivered on Monday! Very excited! The last computer I ordered from Apple was my mid 2011 iMac though I did have an old MacBook Pro from 2012 I bought second hand that unfortunately died recently (logic board needs replacing)! Can’t wait to install Logic Pro x and make some music
