Any idea what the “ultimate” MBP be like ?

And has anyone been able to select pick up from stores in countries where Apple Stores are due to open.

Stores will be open in Australia on 7th May. Not sure if they will have ready stocks of MBPs to sell.

AFAIK its' the 10th gen i7/32gb/2TB configuration. When you select that, the ship date is almost as early as the base models. I ordered mine at launch and it's already waiting at customs

Anyone have theirs leave Shanghai yet?

Might change my mind and upgrade RAM or cancel completely. Weekend to think it over.

Got exactly the same config. Spent ages debating the RAM upgrade. £100 doesn't seem like a lot, but to be honest, I went for 16GB RAM all the way back in 2014 for my last MBP and don't think I ever used it apart from once when running virtual machine! It made me realise that "future-proof" is a fallacy as CPU and other features go out of date quicker than RAM. So I am having £100 and sticking to 8GB. That and the ultra-fast SSD swap makes extra RAM not really required unless doing heavy video editing (at which point, you shouldn't be getting the base 8th-gen version).

Same. Ram upgrade is 150 Australian, but for what I do I don’t need it. I’ll report back when I get it tomorrow

Basically the same here. Got my 2019 Monday and Monday night 2020 was released for $300 Aussie bucks cheaper for same configuration. They are delivering my 2020 model tomorrow and picking up the 2019 return.

Exciting, I can finally participate in one of these threads. 2.0ghz 10th gen i7, 512gb, 16gb ram. Should be delivered tomorrow in Canada. Will keep y’all updated.

Surprised some are coming Friday but good news. Mac OS 10.15.5 must be out any day as I believe these need that OS to work with the 10th gen CPU’s.
MacBook Airs with the 10th gen CPUs shipped with 10.5.3.

UPS said mine would be delivered Friday. Now it doesn't have an estimated delivery date, and Apple's order status page says Delayed.

Departure scan from Shanghai from a few minutes ago, although I can't find any UPS flights en route or even scheduled from PVG to NRT, ICN, KIX, ANC or SDF.

My ass just had to read this post. Same here now after my previous one. Wow haha

Mine changed over to Shipped while I was sleeping and is now in Clearance In Progress with UPS. No delivery date showing yet. The waiting is always the worst/best part.

same boat here, was due to deliver Friday now showing as delivery unknown. I do show a departure scan from Shanghai at 7:07pm. It does appear UPS flights left out of Hong Kong around the same time to Anchorage, not sure if it got transferred to HK first, I guess we will see.

Huh, I didn't see anything to HKG or ANC on FlightAware.

Edit: Nevermind, I see what you're saying. Weird there's no PVG-HKG flight though

UK base model shipped via DPD and arriving tomorrow. Currently use the same spec 2019 MBP which has been fine for me but I may return this and get the 4 port/i5/16/512 for some future proofing.

Just got an update from UPS, it arrived in Incheon, now scheduled to deliver Thursday by end of day. This was strange as I got the email saying the delivery was coming but online still shows unknown.

I'm in ICN too.

Friday is still very possible. Hell, tomorrow if you're feeling optimistic.

Looking at flight schedules, it could be in UPS's Louisville hub shortly after midnight tonight. From there, it can be just about anywhere in the country early Thursday morning for delivery.

I ordered mine yesterday:
MBP 13 8th Generation
i7/32/2TB Space Grey
Order date: May 5
Estimated delivery: Arrives 21 May :(
Current Status: Processing
Country: UK

Curious to know if anyone with the spec above has any movement for UK orders. My current MBP 2018 seems to know a replacement is coming as it’s starting to have kernel panics! 😜

UPS estimates have been horribly unreliable when being shipped from China ever since pandemic started. Mine says delivery this Friday on ups tracking but Apple says next week. Apple’s estimate likely more accurate.
