Hoping people will post their case purchases here for the new 2020 SE. I was just made aware that many older cases are being re-purposed for the SE and I'm not sure if that is going to work. More importantly, some of those cases were designed for iPhones that did not have wireless charging, and may be too thick for that function to work well.

iPhone 8 had wireless charging. They would have to be some pretty old cases.

Just ordered a Speck Presidio Grip for iPhone 8. We have the same model on iPhone XR and 11, and wireless charging works fine.

I also have the same case on my iPhone 7 but my current case already has some chipping from a few too many drops so I don't plan on reusing it.

The iPhone 7 cases for the iPhone 8 fit with no issues (genuine ones), and the 8 has the same profile as the SE will have. So you’ll be fine with them.
I’ve got a brand new Storm Grey leather case awaiting my SE.

If you want a 2 card holder the Spigen CS Armour has one out for this phone. It’s my favorite case on any of my phones now.

Not a fan of Spigen. The pattern on the rubber back left permanent discoloration on my iPhone 6+. Probably not an issue on glass though.

Had it on since the iPhone X for 2 yrs , son still has it on and now on my 11 Pro Max.

On the glass backing that does not happen like you said. Didn’t have it in prior.

I've dropped my X a few times where the case protected it. Sturdy / Protective to handle decent drops.

I haven’t been carrying around my wallet since I’ve owned it has been a life changer.

I think my wife has a Spigen Neo Hybrid on the way and I put mine in an Otterbox Defender Pro.

I am getting confused...

Say I wanted a cheap one - those from I7 may not fit but those made for I8 should fit?
Or to avoid unpleasant surprises I need to get one for Se 2020?

They're all the same. The case manufacturers are just re-branding the packaging to show compatibility with the new SE and in doing so, the price usually goes up too.

EDIT: Oops, I forgot, let me add the Apple logo position has changed location to the center of the back of the phone, so the cases with the cut-out for the logo will fit but the logo will be off. So yeah, if you like to see the logo you would need a new SE specific case.

Only cases you need to watch are battery cases since the 7 didn't have wireless charging. Although, not even all the 8 battery cases support it either, but no 7 ones will for sure.

Go case-less!

The 2020 iPhone SE (and the iPhone 8) are really grippy in the hands because of their glass backs. Not only that but they're small and lightweight phones, so holding them in your hands is easier. Yes they have glass backs and are more susceptible to cracking if you drop them, but the tradeoff is worth it.

I took the SE off the case earlier trying to get a pic of it in my hand (for size comparison) and it just kept sliding off.

I'm more than happy to keep it in a Speck grip case.

When I had an iPhone 8, I found it to be super grippy and easy to hold in my hands, but YMMV.

I purchased this case before I received my SE, have been using it since. I really like it. It’s on the slim side and I have to clean it about once a week because dirt gets trapped between phone and case (white phone so might not be so noticeable with other colors).

I attaches some pics of it below. Hopefully this helps out.
