giving an award to a gacha game seems kind of sleezy tbh
Eh, it does have really impressive graphics for a mobile game, so I think Apple's selection is reasonable. You can also play through the entire story without ever touching the gatcha mechanics, so as far as microtransaction games go, I'd put it on the less-obnoxious end of the spectrum.

Carrot huh? Just installed.

A weather app with a personality? that could evoke an emotional response.

In a sea of blandness, this is an interesting (and maybe compelling) find.

Will evaluate. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yeah, I was actually surprised it felt like I could do pretty much whatever I wanted until I got bored. I finally saw where the gatcha mechanics were and, because I’m not the kind that have to finish a game “TODAY”, I just kept popping in, doing a few things, and out.

CARROT has been my weather app of choice for some years now, not just a great app, but also perfect communication and problem solving when things don't work out. And it puts a smile on my face a lot of the time

On the iPhone, I really like Dark Sky's simple and compact representation of the highs and lows for the next week, so that's what I use there.

But on the Watch, Carrot's big center complication is great. I can put the humidity on my wrist! I don't even know if anyone else will let you do that. I only have to pay $5 a year for whatever reason and it's certainly worth that.

Carrot weather right on cue. It's pretty accurate all the time but you gotta love the personality.

I’ve seen a lot of comments saying carrot weather is very inaccurate and rarely shows a good forecast - is this true?
The accuracy depends on the weather source. In different regions, different weather sources may be the most accurate.

For example, where I live Meteogroup is the most accurate, and Accuweather is only so-so. But when I traveled to Taiwan 2 years ago it was the opposite: in Taiwan I found Accuweather to be more accurate than Meteogroup. The same holds true for weather apps (which use different weather sources).

A plus for Carrot weather is that it supports multiple weather sources.
