If you have UPS hold the phone package at the main hub does anyone know what time you can start to pick up the phones?

I think it depends on the hub; the UPS app will tell you the pickup hours that are available at your local hub.

Knowing my luck, my UPS driver will ring through at 7:16pm. It’s a very rare occasion that UPS will come through before 2pm. 🥺

Same. My UPS drivers usually don’t show up until around 2-3 ish, sometimes later than that.

One year I saw the truck on the map was stopped at the local UPS store and he was cool with me going to him.. I hope it wasn’t weird and hopefully it saved him a stop

I’m hoping the ups live tracker is somewhat available on Friday as I’ll be in the office and needing to go home and get the phone when the truck gets close by. Luckily I live only 2.3 miles from the office.

For normal deliveries, Ive seen the live tracker show the truck 2 blocks away from me for hours at a time. Out of curiosity, Ive driven to the area shown on the map to see - and didnt find the truck. At best for me, its significantly delayed versus reality

Mine allows me to pick up when they open. Some hubs will not allow until after an hour or two of being open and others have a set window. You will want to call in.

@guitar.jake - it varies by Customer Center. You have to look up their specific hours and they are somewhat limited. Mine is open 10am-2pm. They also have an unpublicized Will Call time after 6:30pm-ish - when the trucks come back, it's a chance to get a box that was missed along the route. Some of these signs of hours are posted on the outside or on their doors, and don't always match website listings.

I've never had an issue tracking the truck on launch day (though the last time I did was maybe 4-5 years ago) but seeing all the bad luck I've had with UPS this past week, I'm not getting my hopes up

That’s not true. I was expecting two packages once and the driver walks up o the door with one. I said where is the other one, and he said he has to make other deliveries first. I told him that’s highly inefficient since I’m right here, so he agreed and went and grabbed my other package.

It is true. Before retiring at the age of 41 I worked in retail and logistics for many years. UPS drivers use software called ORION. It tells them what packages to deliver and when. They are not suppose to deviate from what ORION tells them to do (although when it makes sense they do it anyway.) More often than you would assume if someone has multiple packages the ORION system will tell the driver to deliver one but not show the other and the driver wouldn't know until after the fact as they don't memorize their inventory every day. The software is suppose to show all packages for the same address, but minor deviations or glitches pop up often.

Interesting, I’ll be keeping a close eye then. At worst it will tell me it’s been delivered and then I’ll just go get it before someone else does

Well, ours won’t miss any flights. They should be loaded on the truck to Lexington…70 miles East. 😁

Are you confirmed to be able to pick them up Friday morning? I’m still debating holding mine at a CC, I really just don’t wanna accidentally hold it at a location that won’t allow pickup until Monday or something

I've done the CC hold several times before and it was always available on delivery day (in the morning). Weird tangent on this topic: I called UPS to confirm that my hold for pickup is in place, and the customer service guy said it is, with pickup between 2-4 pm! (The CC opens at 8 a.m.) I'm pretty sure he was conflating my 2-hour delivery window for home delivery with the CC pick-up time. If it's really 2-4, I should have just let the driver bring it to me.
