The current MacBook Pro 14 and 16 are advertised as having "jaw-dropping 7.4GB/s read speeds" (Apple web site product page).
In comparison, the existing MacBook Air M1 was benchmarked by MacRumors as "2190 MB/s writes and 2675 MB/s reads".
Does anyone have any reason to expect SSD improvements in the 2022 M2 MacBook Air? Could there be limiting factors to increasing the speed, such as power requirements?
Thanks!
