I think some of this mess will be answered on December 30th when FSU plays UG. If they hang with them, then maybe they should have been included. But if they get TCU'd, then ............

Ummmmm... The odds of Georgia and 'bama having the potential to roll up anyone in the top 25 is pretty great.
It's not about FSU being able to hang. It's about the agreement.
FSU is undefeated, they were a Top 4 team. They should be in.
How about the winner of each Power 5 conference, plus one wildcard, voted on by the sports writers.
I think going to 12 was too much and 8 would have been a good number.
Include all the P5, now P4 as of next year, Champions, the highest ranked G5 team and then Wild Cards. I don't think you would have any teams ranked 7 or higher end up winning the whole thing so arguing about which team gets 12th (8th) vs 13th/9th would be less important.

There is no way that the SEC was not going to be in the playoff.

Trying to put myself in FSUs shoes...I can't imagine being a fan let alone a team player. I would be PISSED. Is FSU taking any action? Is there any action they can take? I also ask myself if, as a rabid NCAA fan, if I'm making too much out of it all, but I don't think so. Those kids worked hard and came out winning even under bad circumstances. FSU was robbed and I feel sad/mad/revengeful for the team. That doesn't change the fact that there is nothing I can personally DO about it all, but I can rant. Moderation is not a key word in my vocabulary.
If I was an FSU player, I’d boycott whatever bowl game they were scheduled to play in.

"Bowl" game results so far... lol.
7 teams involved had a 6 - 7 record... a losing record. Dear God.
And Syracuse got completely humiliated due to the "portal" window and the fact that they had fired their longtime head coach back in November surely didn't help matters. But, again, at 6 - 7 they didn't belong in a "bowl" game anyway.

At 5-7, Minnesota only qualified for bowl season because it had the highest academic progress rate score among all the nation's five-win teams (992). No other 5-7 teams were needed to fill out the bowl calendar, making the Gophers the only team entering a bowl game with a losing record.
