Why change it? Because it hasn’t been changed? People are silly. Looks great.
Offer it in midnight, maybe. 👊😝👍

That would be a beautiful color for the Mini. Why change it? Because it hasn’t been changed? People are silly. Looks great.

I want a domed cylinder. Slap a dome on top of the trash can MP.Just curious, what would you like it to look like?
The problem with the price decrease is that it's for the most basic of systems, - 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. You add an extra 8GB and an extra 256GB and all of a sudden your entry-level system is $1000, which is insanity. We got a rare price decrease with this update, I am sure that will change with a redesign.
The notch is outdated now. It's all about the Dynamic Island, LOL.Oh darn, and I was hoping for a notch.
And if you make the "Pro" version of the mini useable, the price jumps to $2600. So the system might be small but it's certainly not cheap. (Then again, my 2013 Mac Pro cost $3200 for half the computing power.)The problem with the price decrease is that it's for the most basic of systems, - 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. While I do think that configuration should probably be cheaper than it is, I personally have a base M1 Air and it never fails me at anything. It works just as well as my 14” MBP for a lot of tasks. A lot of people will be perfectly happy with 8GB and 256GB.256 GBs of storage and 8 GBs of RAM in 2023? Ridiculous!
A fanless desktop? One that is already so quiet 90% of the time.. what for?Wonder if they could fill the empty space inside the mini with more heat sink and eventually have it become fanless. There are Manhattan studio apartments smaller than the space inside the M1 Mini.
That would be really interesting! I could also imagine it being fit into an Apple SuperDrive sized device, aka the MacMini Air
A new design could make it so that you could stack even more Mac minis into the same space, which would be an absolute win.Makes sense. Don't want to have to make businesses buy new server racks.
My current display doesn't have a TB output, just in. Then I have a couple older drive enclosures that don't have the daisy chain, so for now, each has to be uses separately unless I buy a TB hub. Resisting extra crap on my desk … so this M2 setup looks enticing.I was going to say the same thing but turns out the M2 Pro doubles the TB ports.

For a computer this small, I think this is the best they can do, short of eliminating the USB-A ports.
That said, can't Thunderbolt 4 ports be daisy chained? If so, then that solves most issues people would come across since you can hook up one hard drive and then have others hooked up in the chain from that point. One display hooks u to the Mac mini and others to the display. 2 ports is cutting is close but 4 should be more than enough.
I'm not surprised the M2 Pro model has the four Thunderbolt/USB-C ports, like the Intel Mac Mini it replaced. Too bad it also doesn't come in a Space Gray color option. But it's still good enough for me!And to make sure it wasn't a typo, I also found the image showing four ports. View attachment 2143718
