So with the new changes, the cars did indeed spend less time harvesting energy during the Sprint, but they also spent more time just driving processionally. Part of that could be due to the track layout - I think Montreal will give us a better idea of how things are.

The speed-reduction during super-clipping is still on the order of 40km/h, but they were doing it closer to the braking zone so they were at top speed for longer. And FOM is still cutting the audio when they do super-clip, restoring it once the MGU-K is driving the wheels.

And if you plan to watch the Grand Prix live on Sunday, keep an eye on the news as the FIA is considering moving forward the start time in order to miss thunderstorms forecast for late afternoon that could bring heavy rain and lightning.

Not a good day for Audi - Hulkenberg's engine caught fire on the formation lap (he may not make GP qualifying) and Bortoleto has been DQ'd for illegal air intake pressure.

Kimi Antonelli was also accessed a post-race 5 second time penalty for too many instances of exceeding track limits, dropping him from 4th to 6th.

Wasn’t expecting that front row. RB22 comes alive. I might actually watch tomorrow. Red Bull seemed to really nail their deployment mapping. Not an easy task.

Did the experiment work? No, the sprint was about the worst we have had to date, there was no overtakes, no action, no drama, it was pointless, Spa 2 laps will be ranked a better race than the 2025 Miami Sprint..

There was rain and lightning which required everyone to shelter in place, but looks like that has passed and the F2 race is getting ready to start. The cloud deck is right down to the ground.

Max has noted that they modified the control schema (new steering wheel) that now allows him to properly operate all the new tech on the car which has made him much more confident in driving the car.

F1 returning to V8’s. I wonder who will fund the teams and make the PU’s when the manufacturers pull out? I can’t see Ford, Honda and Audi sticking around to develop engines that are irrelevant to their market strategy. Mercedes and Ferrari I expect to stay.

We all love a V8, but I also worry this will force the sport to seek rich independents who will come and go as the money runs out.

And I am sure GM will not he happy spending money on a hybrid engine that they will only get to race one season (if that). If MBS is serious, I could see them just "doing an Alpine" and continue to run Ferrari engines, which will honk off FOM, who want more PU manufacturers, not less.

I think the Safety Car led the most laps during the F2 feature race, but overall it was not a carnage-fest so if it does rain during the Grand Prix, we might be okay.

Why not a single supplier? Might as well combine F2 and F1, after all Aston Martin are fighting for last place in F2, or should be... We are heading towards a single customer supplier, like tyres, and most other things on the cars.. Very little is in house..

Well, the Saudi’s did just pull out of LIV Golf………😏

Well, definitely some good racing. Definitely wasn’t expecting it. Glad the rain held off. Some good strategies, some not.

Kimi is amazing for his age. Well deserved win. Surprised the undercut was so effective at Miami. McLaren couldn’t recover. Tough day for Ferrari. Charles almost saved it. Going to be interesting to see Mercedes upgrades in Canada.

Red Bull should have brought Max in for a 2 stop after Kimi and Lando drove past so quickly. He could have been on the podium. Incredible drive from Max after the spin. Great stuff between Max and George. Max is DOD. He can smell a podium. The RB22 is back.😏

On to Canada.

Watching the race now, boring Mario Kart at the front, not really sure what their changes are supposed to have done? Bar bringing RB back into the mix... well....

Bets on who's replacing Hadjar lol?

And what a bad time to have an engine failure, into a corner with someone overtaking you, rotten luck.

But oh Max.. what could have been.. sigh.

regs are still utterly crap IMO.

This has been the talk, only if they can use tree hugger friendly fuels. Which is so ironic when the most CO2 F1 creates are with the logistics.. But lets have our fingers crossed they can make it happen, AND we get the good ol V8 sounds back again. Dump all this hybrid rubbish.

A typical DHL 744F in F1 cargo operations releases approximately 5,000-5,500kg of CO2 per hour of operation. Can get close to 6,000kg depending on MTOW and WX.

My wife asked about the race and I told her I wasn't really sure because I kept falling asleep.

I've been up since 2 A.M. lol.

I could literally watch it again and most of it would be new to me.

Congrats Kimi.
Congrats Carlos.

I was up a little later, 5am. Put away the snow blower on the John Deer and pulled something in my back putting the deck on Saturday. It was so easy in my 40’s. 😂😂😂😂😂

F1 returning to V8’s.

V6, V8, V10 - Don't care as much as that is the only power source.

As for today's broadcast, these people are clowns. Absolute clowns. We did not see a replay of the start until

the caution on lap 6. Max spinning and recovering, Kimi still can't start worth a damn, just a lot going on and they can't bother to show us until Lap 6+. And with the caution, they were commenting they were working on getting us the feed because they didn't even know what corner the cautions were in.

I have watched ARCA races, small track sprint races and NASCAR Modifieds that had replays quicker. Sure the video looks like it was shot on VHS, but they got the replays up shortly after the incident.

Clowns.

Also, yesterday was the offspring's 26th birthday. Her present:

In the F2 race the end was so exciting the commentator coined a new phrase.."We have a new lace reader.." Classic... That sort of sums up the whole weekend, we have a new lace reader... Kimi creates history, and truly does anyone really care??

I agree that the idea of Max going to the naughty chair after the race for his "crossing the line" was stupid.. Either bill him during, not a month later.. Same with Le Clerc, he was hit with 20 seconds/drive through.. Either bill him during the race or at the next race.. 20 seconds after??

F1 is an all weather event, if there is a threat, you don't move the event.. If this was true, then why did we have a 2 lap "race" for points at Spa?? Or was this Miami 2026 the 1st clear and obvious clue that F1 is merging with Indycar in 2031/2032? Indycar is not an all weather sport, only dry tyres.. ??? After all F1 uses dry and semi wet, if you are on full wet, then it is either a parade or red flag, a red flag would thus make it Indycar status????
