Given Apple just got rid of its 32" standalone monitor, the chance of a 32" iMac any time soon seems zero to nil, so I wouldn't wait for those.

A 27" iMac seems possible, but these iMacs don't appear to be it. And it would be fascinating to see how they price a 27" iMac when the standalone display + Mac mini costs about $2,200. I can't see a 27" iMac costing less than that, especially given it includes a keyboard and mouse.

The current iMac design with the white bezels is excellent. But I understand those that want a more classic look too.

As much as people complain about the current iMac here, Apple updates it frequently and spends a lot of time and effort to make multiple colors, color matched accessories and such. So the product must be successful enough in its current format for Apple to keep iterating it.

iMac will skip M5. A redesign with the new colors will launch in 2026 with M6.
You know… that thought has occured to me a number of times. And with the prices of higher-end Macs inching upward, it also occurs to me that I may be forced to shop Apple’s lower-end devices the next time around. An iMac or Mac mini instead of a Mac Studio. A MacBook Air instead of a MacBook Pro. I wouldn’t mind returning to an iMac. I just wish it had a 27-inch screen again and offered an M5 Pro or M6 Pro chip - the same as the Mini.

IDK who this product is for. Laptops are more functional and flexible. Mac minis are more powerful and offer upgrades. If only it came with modularity, expanded connectivity, repairability and Ethernet as a baseline, but it doesn't.

M4/Pro Mac Mini can have their SSDs upgraded. So the person who left a hate reaction disagrees with reality.

Some people like the white bezels (I don't) and are even upset the Neo doesn't have white bezels. Either way I think there should be at least one (or two) colors with black bezels.
I like the colour options and even white bezels as much as the next person, but black bezels are the only ones that don't affect your interpretation of colours, so there should be at least one option that has black bezels.

Also I think I'd rather just have the nice body colour on the front instead of the pastel and white.

Would love to see some colours from the archive:

  • Bondi Blue (the rear of the green M1/M3 was pretty close)
  • Flower Power
  • Indigo (iBook G3)
  • Key Lime (iBook G3)
  • Blueberry
  • Sage
  • Graphite
  • Blue Dalmatian
It would be cool if they did the Neo and 2026 iMac refresh in iMac/iBook G3 colours and used the same naming. The Neo target market might not get the reference but it would be a fun throwback lol

I would love a Tangerine MacBook, though I would love a proper yellow even more to match my iMac even though this is not a G3 colour

I’m surprised they still haven’t done just a plain black/space grey iMac with black bezels. I get the iMac is supposed to be “fun” and black is seemingly a Pro colour for Apple (except for the iPhone 17 Pro line??), but black can be fun too! Especially with desktop setups.

I see a lot of businesses and my old university have the silver iMac and I wonder if they’d all get black if that was an option. It’s funny seeing the iMac lab all silver and white next to the Windows lab that is all black (with a million cords and flimsy plastic monitors balancing on the computer case… a trade off I guess? The silver stands out and looks clean).

Who cares about iMac colors anyway, when they’re only cool on the backside where I never look because it’s against a wall.

Give us cool colors on the front please!

And please give us a Pro chip option or 32GB RAM option

You CAN get 32GB of RAM with a new iMac. Just select the 1TB SSD option on Apple’s web store and the higher RAM option will appear. But the iMac should still get a Pro chip option - just like the Mac Mini.

What needs a new color are the screen bezels. Bring back black bezels!

It would instantly make whatever is on the screen look better! Black bezels increase contrast perception.

Here are the key reasons for black screen bezels:
  • Improved Contrast and Immersion: Black bezels make the colors on the screen look more vibrant and increase the perceived contrast, making the display appear higher quality.
  • Aesthetic "Vanishing" Effect: When the screen is off or displaying dark content, a black bezel makes the monitor or phone appear as a single, uniform piece of glass, enhancing a "borderless" look.

… and when you mainly work with text editors with black text on a white background, the white bezels have the same effect.

I prefer white bezels and agree with you. If they had 1-2 darker colors with black bezels, everyone would be happy. Except the 27"-32" people.

Conversely, 1-2 color options for MacBook Neo with white bezels would be greatly appreciated.

Wrong. It fits many interiors very well. I love the white bezel and wish iPhones still had the option.

I bought an ultimate M4 iMac with a “super computer” build. 10-core CPU. 10-core GPU. 32 GBs of super fast RAM. And a 512 GB blazing fast SSD. Yellow.

I couldn’t be happier. My wife loves it.

iMac army. The M5 is coming soon; hold the line until then.
Couldn't disagree more. White bezels NEVER fit the device's own screen and camera, making the device look much worse. Bringing it back to the iPhone with notches and Dynamic Islands and software button indentations would be absolutely atrocious. Black bezel absolutely everything.

I bet we’ll also get 512 base storage along with a few other tweaks. My M3 iMac has been great so far.

Give me these color treatments, and take my money

The 2024 colour shift made the colours lighter and less saturated. Not darker and richer as the article incorrectly stated. They also showed the old colours in the picture rather than the current colours.

Middle of 2026… *le sigh* well, better late than never? I’ll keep holding on to the thought that the delay in releasing the M5 generation of chips is due not to production issues with TSMC and chiplets but rather that Apple is planning on shaking up their desktop lineup and wants all the ducks in a row to release a 32” 6K Pro XDR (although why would they have cancelled the old one and then wait months to release a new one?) and a new M5 Ultra Mac Pro that can handle discrete GPUs again, among other tricks. Then a new iMac Pro with that 32” integrated and Pro/Max chips available. The rest get the usual chip bumps…

I imagine the present RAM/SSD pricing insanity is also playing into things. Regardless I’m in the market for a pretty massive revamp of my Mac hardware and all it requires is for Apple to deliver… 😉
Why do you torture yourself by holding out for things that you know aren’t going to happen?

If only Apple could allow the iMac to be used as a second monitor !
The design and the display of the iMac are fantastic but it’s a pity and not to be able to turn it into a monitor

I wonder if there could be a way to do it. Such a waste otherwise

I hope they keep the current versatile palette (3 primary colors, 3 secondary colors, and 1 no-color), based on Apple's traditional logo colors. The problem with most other Apple products is that many customers don't really like any of the (few) colors offered, so instead of choosing the color they like most, they choose the one they dislike least. And in some cases (AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirTag), there is only one choice.
