Just picked my Studio Display XDR yesterday, and today I gave it a try while gaming on my PS5 Pro. I'll probably post a longer (and more photography-focused) review in the main thread in a few days, but here is already my experience with the PS5.

I am using the Club3D CAC-1336 HDMI -> USB-C adapter (with the power supplied through one of the PS5's USB-A ports). Out-of-the-box, I get 1080p60 HDR, but after doing the 1440p test in the PS5's video settings, I can unlock 1440p60 HDR, which seems to be the ceiling when using this adapter alone. The test fails for 1440p120, most likely because this mode (like all 120Hz modes) is only defined in a DisplayID extension block of the EDID. This is DisplayPort-specific and the adapter likely drops it (but it could be fixed with EDID emulation). I don't really miss 120Hz since even the PS5 Pro usually can't push stable 120fps, so this mode requires VRR to be useable in practice, and VRR doesn't seem to work with any existing adapters.

If I plug the adapter into my (M1 Pro) MacBook's HDMI port, I get 4K60 SDR, so the adapter can certainly do 4K. Not sure why no HDR in that case.

Quality-wise, the HDR is absolutely stunning! I have not tested darker/horror games yet, so I can't really comment on blooming (which I noticed in a few non-gaming situations). But in brighter games (like Battlefield 6), it looks much better than the OLED monitor (ASUS PA32UCDM) that I briefly had last year (before returning it).

I also haven't tested motion clarity in details, but for 60fps console gaming this monitor seems fine (then again, I'm not playing Valorant or Counter-Strike...).

I'm now hesitating between ordering the Dr HDMI 8K or just waiting for some company to come up with a switch that supports 4K60 HDR. My guess is that the TESmart is just one firmware update away from being able to do that (to add the correct EDID preset), but considering how good HDR is on this monitor, I would rather play in HDR at 1440p than in SDR at 4K until such a switch becomes available.

Nope, but I didn't try, since I prefer to game with headphones.

I tried some darker game yesterday, and still didn't notice any blooming nor any lag in the mini-LED backlight. The ultimate test for blooming would probably be some Star Wars game (bright lasers in pitch-black space!). I'll try to do it soon.

One pitfall to be aware of with the CAC-1336 is that it doesn't seem to be reversible (like the other Club3D accessory I have). I still need to test this systematically, but when the monitor didn't turn on, flipping the USB-C connector fixed it a few times.
 
Got my Studio Display XDR and trying to get the PS5 setup to work, so thank you all for the trial and error so far. I'm definitely looking to hopefully achieve 60hz for general games and 120hz for my competitive games, can live with scaled down resolution in those instances. I've so far purchase the Club 3D USB Gen2 Type-C to HDMI Cable - 3M, 4K120hz, 8H60hz, HDR10+ with DSC1.2 - Active Cable and and now pondering on getting the Lindy HDM 2.1 EDID Emulator as that appears to support 120hz as well. Curious if anyone has tested this combination already?

I'm not picky on the audio solution as I use a headset for most of my gameplay, so definitely the 120hz topic I'm keen on solving.
