The hype continues. Has Apple or for that matter any tech company bothered to ask their customers what they would like? It's always, "you're going to love this". I-THINK-NOT. ***YAWN***
Apple's 20th anniversary iPhone is expected to arrive in the fall of 2027 with the most significant redesign the device has seen since the iPhone X.
The first iPhone was announced in January 2007 and went on sale that June, meaning the device's 20th anniversary technically falls on June 29, 2027. Apple rarely launches new high-end iPhones outside of its September timeframe, and the anniversary models are still expected to arrive in the fall of that year, just as the iPhone X did in 2017 despite marking the 10th anniversary of a device that launched in June.
The 2027 model has been rumored for well over a year, with reports pointing to an all-glass design, new display technology, and a series of upgrades Apple has been working toward for several generations. Much as the iPhone X set the template for the years of iPhones that followed, the anniversary model is likely to define the device's design direction for some time.
Apple could skip the name "iPhone 19" in the same way it skipped "iPhone 9" ahead of the iPhone X in 2017, with rumors so far variably referring to the device as the "iPhone 20" and the "iPhone XX." It’s estimated that around 85-90% use cases right now, so that 10-15% “naked” minority is still quite a large number.
We even have a dedicated thread here, where the case use figure currently shows 65%:

A "pure silicon battery" is actually a lithium-ion battery whose anode is all-silicon, rather than the approach used in what are currently loosely called "silicon-anode batteries", whose anode is really just a mix of the usual graphite along with about 5-15% silicon, which bumps up capacity only a bit. A truly all-silicon anode might increase battery capacity by about 20-30%, which is a decent improvement.
High-bandwidth memory in a smartphone is a surprise, and it would bring a pretty large leap in on-device AI speed, so it might significantly reduce the need to send prompts to cloud-based AI data centers.
All the varying descriptions of the display being designed for the 20th Anniversary iPhone are a little hard to picture in one's imagination: "a new design with curved glass generously wrapping around the front and back.... a curve down around all four edges for a borderless effect, going beyond the curved displays used by other manufacturers....Rather than the aggressively curved "waterfall" edges seen on some Samsung panels, Apple is said to be seeking an equal-depth quad-curved design with very shallow "micro-curves".... For the display.. Maybe something like an Apple Watch screen since it has a slight curve?
My hope is declining to get a through Touch ID
I prefer Touch ID much over Face ID

I want full control and wish to determine exactly the moment when I give allowance (password) to a procedure, mostly about payment and money!

Apple hasn't a excellent knowledge of ergonomics
You will touch these points of sensitivity often without expecting to change volume or other function.
Haptic isn't old style - it's ergonomically the state of the art.
Apple lost a lot of its former abilities.

Strong no to the curved display.... was it a Galaxy S8? (Im googled out tonight).... I had one and the curved edge was so distracting.... I just don't see an end use for it.
Regardless, when #21 arrives, let alone #20, I'll still have my gen 1 Ultra watch and my 2TB IPhone 17 pro max.... I'm so completely done with any unnecessary mobile tech upgrades.
I don't care how much more I or you have, frequent mobile upgrades these days demonstrate poor character... A complete lack of impulsive buying control. Some people are so poor, all they have is money.

Depends on how much its curved, the sides/edges I mean. If its like the iphone X with its curves around the sides and back edges (rounded) that's great, but if its like 17 Pro curved edges then not so much.

A lot of iphone users, and I mean a lot, want the Iphone X design back. Apple really should offer both styles because it seems like half want one design style, the other half want the other.
