I ordered the 27" with the i7, 16GB, 1 TB Fusion, and the 680MX. Still not sure as to whether I made the right choice. I wanted to future proof my machine as much as possible, but don't really feel like I need the screen size of the 27". I knows it's going to be a beast but I really think I would've been just as happy with the 21.5". I also think the 21.5" would've been suitable for my gaming needs (that's why I went with the 27" because of the 680MX but don't really think I need it). I'm gonna see what 21.5" looks like in store and may decide to get it instead of the 27". Why did some of you opt for the 21.5" in the end instead of with the 27"? Damn I'm just confused!

You should have gone for 8GB RAM and upgraded it yourself. Upgrading RAM is possible on the 27" by opening a small hatch on the back. It's not possible on the 21.5" though (At least, nobody's proven it can be, but it would mean opening the whole thing up)

I went for a maxed out 21.5" because it's cheaper and about the right size for my desk. The amount I've used a 21.5" though, it used to feel big when I got my first one, now it feels really small :(

Oh well, I'm planning to sell it when the new Mac Pro comes along, maybe I'll get a bigger display then.

I ordered the 21" with 16GB RAM and 1TB Fusion drive around 8:45 this morning. Shipping 17th-20th. I would love to have been able to walk into store and get one but didn't want the standard configuration. At least I have plenty of things to do for the next 2 weeks to keep me busy!

Ordered a stock 21" from US Apple Store around 11am. It's being prepared for shipment now. I wonder if they are shipping from China or if Apple stocked up US warehouses.

Update: Now shipped via FedEx Ground Home. Delivers tomorrow so must be coming from the PA warehouse. Ironic thing is if I upgraded to expedited I wouldn't get delivery until Mon.

I guess I just have to see how the new iMac is once I get it. I saw the new 21.5" and they look amazing! So you're saying I made the right decision by getting the 27" because eventually the 21.5" will feel too small? To be honest, the 27" is my only multimedia device, as I don't have or watch TV. I figured to get the larger screen since it will be my main driver for watching movies, enjoying media content, playing games (hence the 680MX because there are a lot of Steam games I wanna play), etc.

Ordered last week at MacMall

Ordered the 21.5", 2,9 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5. It was shipped yesterday by UPS. UPS hasn't set a delivery date yet, but probably by Wednesday the fifth. I thought it would be good to mention the possibility of Apple Authorized Resellers. Such resellers might do some upgrading on site. I didn't opt for any.

You ordered it from where?

If from Apple, how do you check the shipping times on UPS?

Apple has shipped my BTO iMac and it is expected to be delivered on or before 6 Dec! YaY

update: UPS says the expected delivery is Dec 04, 2012 (express delivery)

(I am based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands)

My god that's tomorrow! >_<

So lucky! Hope mine processes already!

What did you spec it at?

I bought mine about 4:30 EST. It went to preparing to shipment last night or early this morning. I wonder if it will ship out today. How long does it stay in preparing for shipment?

3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X8GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GT 650M 512M GDDR5
APPLE MAGIC MOUSE
Apple WL Kybd (English)+UG
COUNTRY KIT

???
they say 1-3 business day,but the delivery is 7-11(and today is 3dec)
wtf?

1-3 business days means it ships in that time frame. You then have to add delivery time which is stated as 7-11 days, though often faster. Apple gives worst case scenarios.

High end 21.5" with fusion drive (Denmark)
Delivery 13-18 december. (ordered 30th november)
Express shipping

Apple deducted the remainder from my checking account today. Could it be that it is shipping today? That would be awesome!
