Vote for 10.6's name from this list, I know there could be more, but these were the catchiest. Now 11 I agree should be called Lynx - another poster posted that, and that is catchy, a link to the past and link to the future, Lynx.

Lynx is too close to linux, plus it is a name of a browser i believe. I go with Cougar...
 
Cougar seems most logical to me. It is probably the next most-commonly known cat after the ones that have already been used in previous versions of OSX, including Leopard.
 
Well, it'll almost certainly be Cougar or Lynx...those are the two remaining "cat" trademarks they have.

Obviously I wouldn't. It's just a joke. Would you prefer Chinese Mountain Cat or Fishing Cat? Ok Ok just kidding again.
