WTF? Is this the thing about the 12" BP and 12/14" iB batteries they've had on their website for 400 years?

Interesting.....powerbooks and ibooks sold through this month but not the batteries in the Macbook or Macbook Pro....
I'm thinking the newer batteries (for MBP and MB) are OK because they use Li-Poly cells instead of Li-Ion.

Hmmm... I wonder if I'm affected. I replaced my iBook G4 battery with a different brand. Wonder if they've got the same problem. I suppose it's possible that I could get a free new battery out of all this -- not bad!

The newer MB/MBP models use a different type of battery.

Sounds like I'll be impacted. Bought a refurb powerbook earlier this year. No battery problems with it though...

I for one salute Apple in its efforts to ensure a safe computing environment.

And, my salute has NOTHING to do with the fact that my 18 month old and very used iBook battery currently only holds a 10 minutes charge.

:) :) :)

Crossing my fingers I have an unsafe battery...

Apple Recalls 1.1 Million Batteries

Just saw this as a header on CNN, no story yet:

"Apple Computer is recalling 1.1 million laptop batteries supplied by Sony, citing a fire hazard, The Associated Press reports."
