I am very happy with it but I'm also very glad I went with the sport. I wouldn't want to spend more money on it than that. The sport price is worth it I think, anything more than that and I may feel disappointed.

Funny thing, my mother who is in her eighties and is always amazed by technology thinks the Apple watch is incredible and beautiful. She keeps asking me what else it can do.

If you try to use it as a mini-iOS device, you will probably be disappointed. It's not meant to be actively used and there's not much to really "play around with" on it. If you treat it like a watch, put it on, forget about it, and just let it do it's magic in the background, you will love it. It's far from perfect, and has a lot of room to grow, but I like what it can do now and the potential of what it can become.

So someone spends $400-$17,000 on a device that's really not meant to be used or played around with, put on and forgotten about? Absurd. I expected much more from something so expensive.

Weather loads quickly. Interesting that quite a few of the apps I have on my iphone6 had an app automatically load on setup of the watch. I have LiveStrong for tracking calories and there is an app where you say what you ate at the different meals and then select amount and it lets you know calories. I also have the Carrot weather app on my iPhone and it is now on my watch, without the voice but still messages. I also found the PowerPoint app that lets your watch work like a remote instead of you using your iPhone.

That's cute! You should get her one!

I have been thinking about it.#

Loving mine, SS 38 WSB, already got used to quickly checking updates and texts without having to get out my 6+ which is a bonus. Battery life is really good. Being able to change watch faces to suit the situation you are in. Weather update on my wrist, controlling my iPhone linked to my Bose speaker to change music, taking phone calls, quickly responding to texts, I feel it's already become part of my routine. Just ordered the classic buckle for a more dressy watch, will look to get link bracelet at some point and cancelled my additional order for 42 SG, as I know this is the right size for me. Just created a watch playlist which is syncing. Would like more mail options but great so far.

I will be selling the one I bought after a day with it. I find it pretty much useless.

I think a day isn't nearly enough time to really explore the device and see how it will work for you. You've got two weeks to try it out. Why not use it? I don't entirely disagree with some of your criticisms, but there are some things that the watch is good for and others you're better off using your phone for. The key is figuring out which is which and just using the Watch for things that it actually helps with.

I bought it on Craigslist and paid well over retail. Its not for me, especially for the price. At $199, sure. At retail prices for a device that won't even let me read me emails, uh no.

I've started a separate thread about the email issue. I'd say 90% of my emails are displaying fine (some HTML emails are converted to text but still show up fine). But I can't figure out what the issue is with the others. Most of your emails don't display?

Other way around for me. 90% won't display.

I love it, and I also love watches so it's not an adjustment for me to start wearing it, and I really love the design of this one. I love the messages, being able to see what they are so I know whether I want to respond to them or not. If I'm with other people, I don't want to be rude and take my phone out all the time, so this lets me see if a message is important or just see what someone's saying without having to respond unless I need/want to. And I love the activity, the prompts to get up and move, and my desire to fill those rings! I have kept it on silent so far since getting it yesterday morning, and prefer the taptic taps to sounds. And I don't use it at all for mail. I only want to see my mail when I want to see it (if someone wants me right away, they need to call or text), and so I have no plans to use the watch for mail. Other points,

•Felt natural on my wrist right from the start
•38 mm is the perfect size for me
•No problems or errors entering the passcode or selecting apps, I haven't feel like my fingers were too big or the icons too small
•Activity rings have encouraged me to move more since I got it, which is always good!
•Love the milanese strap, very comfortable and I love the look on my wrist
•Battery so far seems good, though does suck the iPhone battery a bit
•Display is so bright and colorful, looks so clean
•Setup and customization has made sense and hasn't been difficult, I haven't felt a steep learning curve at all

All in all, I love it. I'm happy with my purchase and can see myself enjoying it for a long time.

I feel much the same way.

I was not sure about the watch when I bought it, but one day with the watch and I knew I could live without it. My wife didn't love it either. I figured if we didn't love it right away like all our other Apple stuff, we might as well make a buck. I was going to wait a bit and try it out longer, but in a week or so the resale market will be dead. Sold my watch ($450 profit after eBay fees, 42mm space grey sport) and my wife's watch ($75 profit, 38mm sport with white band) on eBay. FYI if you are in a similar situation and looking to sell, nobody seemed to devalue the fact that the box had been opened. I don't need the money but who couldn't use an easy $500.

I think if I were younger and received more texts/tweets etc. or if my work required constant attention to my emails I would like it more. The fitness stuff is cool and the watch looks and feels awesome. Also the software needs some work but looks great. I fully realize that this is great technology and the best smartwatch out there (I have a pebble, it not great) Maybe I will buy one again later with my profits...:apple:

we might as well make a buck.

this is so smart it's difficult to quantify :D

You can always buy another stupid watch, or two!

What blows my mind is all the people willing to pay this. Has the entire world gone Apple crazy?

Mania. Just like you hear about, with other things, like dolls, etc. Hysteria.

At least I've got a feeling that's the case and not rich people at all.

Why exactly does that blow your mind? Does it ever occur to you that people like different things in their life and are willing to pay different amounts of money for things they want? I for example could say "it bowls my mind people are willing to spend £300 or£400 for a football match ticket when they can view it on a big ass flat TV, or people who camp a days ahead to get their hands on a concert ticket for their favourite celebrity" and the list just goes on, but I don't. It's absolutely no surprise there, we all enjoy different things.

Yes very true.

But those things are 'perishable'. Concert tickets, games, etc., are events. This 'seems' like a case of wanting it immediately. I may be wrong, who knows.

But of course, your right, it's a personal thing, and whatever floats your boat.

I'm not putting anyone down or being negative. Just an observation. A bit surprising for me, being naive as I am :)

I think I do get what you mean. Like why pay double the price today when you could wait a bit longer and pay the official price. But then again, it's a part of a human personally I guess. Some are very impatient ( and you can clearly tell just by reading some threads in this forum regarding their orders/deliveries) and some others have no problems and ca wait almost forever.

I'm finding the most useful aspect of the Watch is my ability to use it while I'm on my motorcycle.

It used to be too inconvenient to pull my phone out to check a notification or change my songs when I'm just chillin at a light. I usually had to take my glove off (which is touchscreen compatible) just to be able to pull it out of my pocket and then keep my eye on the light to make sure I had enough time to stick it back in my pocket and shift back in gear before people started honking at me.

Now it's just a couple taps to change songs, or a simple glance at the watch to check notifications (you can even do it while riding, though that's probably not safe:D).

A day in, what do we think? Worth it? Does Apple got a winner on their hands? Is it as amazing as the first 24h with the iPhone back in ´07? Please share your insight. Fanboys and kids with one sentence answers please ignore this thread.

:apple:

starting day three and so far I am blown away with everything but battery life, with the type of "new toy usage" I am doing I am desperately low around 8pm (i wake up at 05-0600 everyday though. I have been logging 2-3 short exercise sessions each day as well.

Fanboi-ness aside there is glitches (again no FBness) but I expected some as an early adopter. Though, with that said the glitches are not game changing and mainly pertain third party apps trying to integrate to the apple watch with their limited SDK at this point.

as far as notifications, after the slight learning curve, it is so good that the first two days I never took my phone out of my pocket other than to play iPhone games. Even to use GPS or text or, well anything else I would have taken my phone out for. The way the watch directs you, you really don't even need a dedicated GPS as it taps you with what I think sounds and feels like a turning signal for which way it tells you to go.

I'll answer more i you have more direct concerns I didn't help ya with.
