I am very happy with it but I'm also very glad I went with the sport. I wouldn't want to spend more money on it than that. The sport price is worth it I think, anything more than that and I may feel disappointed.
If you try to use it as a mini-iOS device, you will probably be disappointed. It's not meant to be actively used and there's not much to really "play around with" on it. If you treat it like a watch, put it on, forget about it, and just let it do it's magic in the background, you will love it. It's far from perfect, and has a lot of room to grow, but I like what it can do now and the potential of what it can become.
I will be selling the one I bought after a day with it.
Funny thing, my mother who is in her eighties and is always amazed by technology thinks the Apple watch is incredible and beautiful. She keeps asking me what else it can do.
Since your selling it I imagine it's for profit, no?
I expected much more from something so expensive.
I bought it off Craigslist,I have no choice but to sell it.
That's cute! You should get her one!
I will be selling the one I bought after a day with it. I find it pretty much useless.
I think a day isn't nearly enough time to really explore the device and see how it will work for you. You've got two weeks to try it out. Why not use it? I don't entirely disagree with some of your criticisms, but there are some things that the watch is good for and others you're better off using your phone for. The key is figuring out which is which and just using the Watch for things that it actually helps with.
I bought it on Craigslist and paid well over retail. Its not for me, especially for the price. At $199, sure. At retail prices for a device that won't even let me read me emails, uh no.
I've started a separate thread about the email issue. I'd say 90% of my emails are displaying fine (some HTML emails are converted to text but still show up fine). But I can't figure out what the issue is with the others. Most of your emails don't display?
I love it, and I also love watches so it's not an adjustment for me to start wearing it, and I really love the design of this one. I love the messages, being able to see what they are so I know whether I want to respond to them or not. If I'm with other people, I don't want to be rude and take my phone out all the time, so this lets me see if a message is important or just see what someone's saying without having to respond unless I need/want to. And I love the activity, the prompts to get up and move, and my desire to fill those rings! I have kept it on silent so far since getting it yesterday morning, and prefer the taptic taps to sounds. And I don't use it at all for mail. I only want to see my mail when I want to see it (if someone wants me right away, they need to call or text), and so I have no plans to use the watch for mail. Other points,
Felt natural on my wrist right from the start
38 mm is the perfect size for me
No problems or errors entering the passcode or selecting apps, I haven't feel like my fingers were too big or the icons too small
Activity rings have encouraged me to move more since I got it, which is always good!
Love the milanese strap, very comfortable and I love the look on my wrist
Battery so far seems good, though does suck the iPhone battery a bit
Display is so bright and colorful, looks so clean
Setup and customization has made sense and hasn't been difficult, I haven't felt a steep learning curve at all
All in all, I love it. I'm happy with my purchase and can see myself enjoying it for a long time.
we might as well make a buck.
What blows my mind is all the people willing to pay this. Has the entire world gone Apple crazy?.
Why exactly does that blow your mind? Does it ever occur to you that people like different things in their life and are willing to pay different amounts of money for things they want? I for example could say "it bowls my mind people are willing to spend £300 or£400 for a football match ticket when they can view it on a big ass flat TV, or people who camp a days ahead to get their hands on a concert ticket for their favourite celebrity" and the list just goes on, but I don't. It's absolutely no surprise there, we all enjoy different things.
Yes very true.
But those things are 'perishable'. Concert tickets, games, etc., are events. This 'seems' like a case of wanting it immediately. I may be wrong, who knows.
But of course, your right, it's a personal thing, and whatever floats your boat.
I'm not putting anyone down or being negative. Just an observation. A bit surprising for me, being naive as I am![]()
A day in, what do we think? Worth it? Does Apple got a winner on their hands? Is it as amazing as the first 24h with the iPhone back in ´07? Please share your insight. Fanboys and kids with one sentence answers please ignore this thread.
